They didn’t make the cut but I also liked From Russia with Love, Bloodstone and the MP in Quantum of Solace.

porkChop961d ago

Yeah QoS had some really fun MP. It had some lag issues when I played it, but it was cool.

robtion961d ago

Bloodstone was great. Like playing an actual Bond film.

Orchard962d ago

The best was always going to be Goldeneye! Very fond memories of the split screen MP on N64!

Smitty2020961d ago

Totally agree, First to the golden gun lol

blackblades961d ago (Edited 961d ago )

Agree, wish someone never stole my copy, then one of the games on ps2 my cousin borrowed it and never return. I did like everything or nothing and song.

DaReapa961d ago

Have to say, this was one of the very few times I fully agree with a "best/worst" list. The top 3 are definitely my top 3...in that order, no less.

PectoralFlex961d ago

Agent Under Fire was the shit. Probably the only one that comes close to Goldeneye, imo. Multiplayer matches in the Church level with everyone using grappling hooks and sniping each other to death. Or the harbor level and everyone rocket launching each other for hours. Lots of fun.

I love that multiplayer facing bots and grapping hook anywhere around the environment for some brutal kills lol!!! That game was so fun, and it had 60FPS for PS2 and Gamecube it was buttersmooth.

I actually thought Quantum of Solace was pretty good. Treyarch did a decent job. The levels were well designed and had actual replayability. It was a little bit too action-heavy, and not having driving sections was a mistake. But I still enjoyed my time with it.

I'm excited to see what IO Interactive does with the license. I think they're currently the best choice. Hitman laid a great foundation for a Bond-style game. They aren't known for driving gameplay so I doubt we'll see any, but I'm still optimistic about the game.

I loved QoS. Russia with love too.

Hope they make a comeback next gen

PrimeVinister1443d ago

There were a few non-film ones back on PS2/GC that were really good.
I can imagine the cinematic elements of those games would look even better now.

DaReapa1442d ago

Everything or Nothing is my second best Bond game behind Goldeneye 64, followed by Nightfire.

fulldeepdive1442d ago

we have a lot of great video games and we have a lot coming out this year...lame

Godmars2901442d ago

What's happened to the James Bond franchise in general?

It, much like Star Trek, Star Wars, has had too much of the "real world" shoved down their throats. That plus people with agendas hijacking them thinking they can use brand value to deliver "transformative" messaging while lacking the awareness, the creative talent, needed to make them entertaining at even a base level.

Also, getting back on subject, doesn't help that movie studios don't see gaming studios as equals who need as much if not more time to do their jobs right.

Tross1442d ago (Edited 1442d ago )

Yeah, come to think of it. Maybe their absence can be attributed to the falling popularity of the videogame adaptation or even the licensed franchise tie-in, as well as the gaming landscape being quite different now than it was. The Bond titles filled a niche of FPS-action titles, the likes of which are not exactly uncommon nowadays. That said, the Bond games were a fun take on the genre that I'd like to see return one day.

DaReapa1442d ago

Activision's tenure with the license attributed to the lack of quality games.

roadkillers1442d ago

That's true. You couldn't get past the PS2 days without a movie tie in. Now, I can't think of the last game tie in.. even Star Wars was different

James Bond is a dead franchise. It is now a social justice victim (see also Ghostbusters). Franchise is DEAD. I will never watch another one. Thanks SJW's. You have killed something else.
