''Gamescom has allowed Sony to answer critics who thought the E3 showing was a little flat. I believe that they’ve done that in the best way possible – by addressing concerns, giving us a little surprise and expanding on strategies that will ensure the outgoing home console generation, and the changing market for portable game consumption, generates revenue for the coming years of investment in that much anticipated new hardware.''
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
Genuine Enabling Technology was seeking damages, claiming the tech allowing PlayStation consoles and controllers to communicate infringes its rights.
Sounds like patent trolling they tried the same thing against Nintendo with the same pattern.
Motion and control input traversing over higher and lower frequencies seperate from each other allowing the controller to do both
So to recoup the money Genuine is going to take on Nintendo or Microsoft next. I hate patent lawyers they are some of the worst bottom feeders out there.
sony will be ending ps3 cycle with very good support and they need to continue to push some of their ELITE studios to develop some unique, original games on the psvita and at the same time getting ready for the imminent ps4 launch line up (it needs to be the best in playstation history) , what does Gaikai acquisition mean for us ( playstation fans) ? they did good when it comes to new IPs this generation and in my eyes they are doing it again on the vita but i want more and im sure i will get those new original games on both consoles ( psvita and ps4 ) but next gen will be starting with WiiU and ZombiU for me. its up to Nintendo to get me back to my gaming roots now.
well, they need to work on starts and momentum. they did good with the PSV, but dropped the ball on maintaining momentum...
the PS4 needs a big launch line-up and a continuous stream of releases every week, whether 1st party or 3rd party and cross app chat for SEN...
Microsoft and Nintendo are ending their generations with a wimper, Sony didn't really have to do much because they basically won by default.
You can't just line up a Halo game as your one core exclusive and be like "welp we're done here", sorry but I cancelled my Live account awhile ago and moved on. And no I'm not just ragging on Microsoft, I won't be wasting my time on Sony's God of War rehashes either. I will however be checking out most of Sony's new IP (The Last of Us could be a generation defining game) because new IP are what keep me interested in gaming.
I don't even know what Nintendo is doing, I guess Skyward Sword was Wii's swan song.
I'm no troll.
Trouble is halo will be around for a long time and you'll end up playing it.
What's this about a neutral gamer...lol, you no nothing.
You mention uncharted, I must say its a great game but its never going to get the press media coverage that halo has had and I don't no why because it deserves as much as halo.
