Tomb Raider’s global brand director has highlighted the sort of puzzles we’ll be tackling in the upcoming reboot and how they tie into both the storyline and Lara’s characterisation.
Wait this is Lara croft were talking about here isnt it? Zing!
Translation : " We know today's gamer doesn't have the attention span to solve old school Tomb Raider puzzles, so we left them out to cater to the masses. " ...which sucks because the original TR games were the best, and the puzzles were a big part of that.
On to bigger and better things. Personally I think the TR games lacked any real story telling, so I welcome the change.
How is getting rid of puzzles necessary for better story telling? I personally think it's bullcrap. Tomb Raider was mostly about exploration, not combat.
Bigger and better? I'm not sure what you mean by that, and I don't think you are, either. And as Nathan said, puzzles really don't have anything to do with storytelling.
sometimes change is not good, TR is dead
Tomb raider has been dead forawhile now. There taking tips from uncharted and are actually making a tomb raider worth playing.
As a tombraider fan, this reboot worries me, if they want to change everything, just make a new IP... I for one enjoyed the 80% exploration and 20% combat. But to hear the iconic puzzles are gone is troubling. This was a day 1 purchase for me, but now i might wait til the price drops significantly and certainly after reviews come out.
HAHAHAHA you won't be getting my money then
smart and resourceful laura will only be 10hrs long too.. smh i really want this game but $60 for such a short game doesnt seem worth it unless theres replay value..
Not sure who the main character is for this game but it certaintly isn't Lara Croft and this definitely doesn't look like it will be a Tomb Raider game.
Why is it essential to have a puzzle? Why not something different?
If anyone took the time to actually watch the video they'd realize the 'smart resourceful Lara' is just a fancy way to say puzzles. They'd also hear this lovely quote, "there will be plenty of riddles, challenge tombs and puzzles." But no let's judge an entire game from an article title.
