Mashable: "We’re hearing unconfirmed reports that OnLive — a cloud gaming startup focused on bringing a console experience to devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android phones — laid off its entire staff Friday."
Sucks that these people will be out of a job
Just been proven fake. http://venturebeat.com/2012... Next rumor please?
Yea, it seemed odd for them to just close shop when they don't appear to be in any bad spot and are in the middle of quite a few projects.

meh, glad Sony bought Gaikai
Urm.... ok.... Not entirely relevant exactly... but ok....
If a major cloud gaming service just laid off its entire staff, why would it be good news for other cloud gaming services like Gaikai? This just proves cloud gaming wont work and Sony probably made a bad decision buying them
Wow. This is sad, bad news indeed. Especially if the rumors are true. The Fargo reference kinda cemented it for me. Why would he state that? This is very sudden.
OnDie? end troll.
only thing ONLIVE provided was away for MS to invest in Cloud app for the X-720 and SONY to merged with GAIKAI for PS4.
sad tho onlive had to lay-off employees.
personally i never thought it would get off the ground from beginning.
OK so it sounds like 1 of 3 things happened... 1) they are in big trouble and are laying off the majority of the staff as their recent deals announced aren't paying off enough. OR 2) They have realized they grew too big for what the actual business model was going to support and so they are scaling down to a level more appropriate. AND finally 3) They were in trouble on their own, are being bought out and rebranded under a new company flag and a chunk of staff are being let go due to the merging (think Google possibly).
You guys have only yourself to blame for this. You didn't support it.
I agree 100% to many dam fanboys
would be strange to lay off their entire staff. maybe closing a few departments here and there would be reasonable... kinda like a comoany restructure when it gets bought out or merged.
