Assassin’s Creed III creative director Alex Hutchinson says Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum “raised the bar” in terms of combat, and that ACIII’s fighting style was changed as a result.

i looked as if batmans fighting mechanics came from Assassins Creed 1 but if director says it then [email protected]#t. (not trying to be funny really thought that it came from them)
Assassin's Creed 1's fighting mechanic wasn't as fluid and well done as Batman AA's.

Yeah I thought the same thing. Sure seems like I did the fluid fighting thing in AC first. (and yea the Eagle vision too).
Can't agree with the fighting...but definitely Eagle vision. While you can stand around and counter all day with Batman, it's not the most efficient way to fight like it is in Assassin's Creed. In AssC, that's pretty much all there is to it, while Batman has a heavy focus on stringing together combos... I also think it's much more rewarding to rack up a 400 hit combo than it is disarming yet another templar while his buddies watch.
in fact, a lot a people were saying that assassin's creed 2 felt like playing batman in the renaissance.
Batman has inspired a lot of adventure style games fighting mechanics. And its awesome. But, while it looks great...its very easy and the equivalent to mashing in a fighter. I feel like its too easy...the only challenge is managing a group, but its so easy to do. Now, granted....AC series has always been easy, so it fits just fine. I really hope dishonor brings the true feeling of being an Assassin (that's not a Ninja - Ten chu has that covered). Assassins creed is a brawler who climbs, not really stealthy enough for me to term the protagonists as an Assassin.
So you've never tried the challenge rooms from the Batman games? You can mash your way through the story, but if you want high scores, you have to master combat...same as any fighter...
I also agree with this. In order for him to be an "Assassin" there really should be a way for me to make the kill and get out without the following chase scene which is rare in AC. The chase scene is almost mandatory in most missions.
And that chase scene is fun the first 2-3 times you've done it. After that...its a punishment for accomplishing your goal. I'd much rather walk out under disguise or via shadows. The challenge rooms in bats are quite challenging I forgot.....but I can promise you you won't see that level of challenge anywhere in asscreed.
The combat mechanics in AC series its tooooo easy... I expect that Ubisoft make it more harder...
