Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 'scalable' for next-gen consoles

When Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launches later this year on PC and PlayStation 3, each version will represent a scaled version of the game's highest settings. But with talk of next-gen consoles getting louder and louder, does it make sense to stick with the PlayStation 3? Square Enix producer slash director Naoki Yoshida thinks so, but that doesn't mean he isn't prepared for the looming next generation of game consoles.

I would get this right away for PS3 if I didn't have to buy the game and then pay the monthly fee also. Include a 30 day voucher at least!

They've told the community playing it a while back that they will do the 30 day free period again at relaunch so there you go :)

this game is NOT coming to ps3, it will be on ps4, just saying

there is zero way the game could look even like the pc version now on the lowest settings and support 100's of players, let alone thousands on the outdated ps3....the things 7 years old

look at dc universe on ps3, cartoony, looks terrible, jaggies, bad shadows and still horrible framerate and sub-hd resolution

ffxiv looks great on pc, runs pretty good, but you need a decent rig to run it, by decent i mean, i-7 920'ish, gtx 560 , 6gb ram, or so to really see it in its glory, and that is roughly 7-10x more powerful than a ps3

if you wanna max ffxiv you need even more cpu and gpu

The great thing about PC gaming is, you don't need to play on Max settings to run the game good.

It will come out on the PS3, quote me on this also.

FFXI run well on PS2 over six years ago ( it was released in april 2006 ) ... you don' t know what are you talking about. SU.

Too bad I can' t bubble you down for ignorance.

Those specs are a bit exaggerated. My rig isn't near that great and I play the game maxed out just fine. And the game is going to be even more efficient and compatible even on the PC side with the new engine so I'm sure it will do just fine.

fool it's going on the ps3 not ps4 who says that
