Sleeping Dogs: Brutal Violence With a Soft Side

As soon as Sleeping Dogs throws you into a territorial battle over a night market in Hong Kong you get the feeling that there’s something new here. It’s dense and it’s busy. Girls are dancing in front of a billboard trying to sell you sodas, others are hawking pirated DVDs off of tabletops or cooking noodles beneath ethereal, orange lights. By the time you’re shoving your way through the crowds to scramble over a set of ledges and engage a drug dealer in hand to hand combat, you’re deep enough into this vision of Hong Kong that you’re there for the long haul. (PC, PS3, Sleeping Dogs, Xbox 360)
