Eurogamer:
Eye-catching Team Ico title still alive, Yoshida confirms.
What's happening with The Last Guardian, the eye-catching PlayStation 3 exclusive once due out late 2011?
We asked Sony Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida that same question during an interview at Gamescom today.
No, just no. For all the bad things people say MS has done, putting out unfinished games is certainly not one of them.
Although who knows if this is due to pressures from the platform owner.
Its good to see they are striving for quality with this title, maybe they are being too ambitious? this is never a bad thing.
So I assume it will be the same again with the PS3's hardware, and the PS3 is still doing some pretty damn impressive stuff (Last of us, Beyond) :)
RARE, anyone?
A developer diary would be fascinating to watch. I actually want to know, perhaps in detail, most of the obstacles they had to face to create this game. It'd be a sweet documentary if they could place it on the disc.
Edit. Better yet, spent that money to get phantasy star online on the ps3.
The 12x12 multiplayer was always in the game/s
Team Ico is about 100 men strong and Japan studio is 600 man team... They don't close team ico it wouldn't make sense since they are just a sub division of Japan Studios just like Clap Handz and Polyphony Digital are.
Hopefully after this game they make a new PS vita IP.
PS Network new IP.
and then start working on a ps4 IP.
why?because in this industry working on triple AAA game for 8 years takes its toll on developers and is not as glamorous as people make it up to be.Just look at what happened to the developers of LA Noire......
Even when the game sold so well and over 3million copies the studio still made a loss and was closed.
The developers at team Virgil say the same thing.
So after the last of us it would be nice to see a PSN and PS vita game from Team ICO just to ensure stakeholders and shareholders that Team ICO is still a great ASSET to Japan studio.Cant help but feeling that Fumito Ueda left and only works as a contractor because of the project was just taking too long and ran into too many development hurdles. One thing for sure the morale of the team ICO must be very low.
Its up to us gamers to support this game now.
so please just shush and go back to CoD kkthxbb"
I'm well aware of who they are or who they used to be. Its obvious that this game and studio is having issues with its development. They haven't produced one game this entire generation.
Some developers take as much time as they need(provided they have a publisher with that kind of faith in them) and make one superb game.
IF you were well aware of who they "were," you'd be less worried. IF you weren't an anti-Sony fanboy, you might have a different opinion.
IF you knew what you were talking about, you would have said something less ignorant.
Pretty sure if Agent, Eight Days, The Getaway 3, and FFVXIII aren't canned. They'll probably be PS4 launch titles.
Was Team ICO overwhelmed by the PS3 architecture?
Was the game's "IDEA" too big for their small development team?
Above all for me, it confirms the game is still in development, which is what we've all been wondering lately.......
I just hope this game turns out great, because ICO and SOTC are Classics.
I hope this is too.
I have faith in Team Ico & their talent in delivering memorable experiences so i hope this game will be just that.
When the game is released i hope reviewers judge the game for its merits rather than the judge it for its long development time. Like what happened with GT5 & the unfair nitpick the game got.
He's the kind of guy imo that will always see bigger and bigger and have to tone things down to a level any hardware could handle
Like I said if I dont see versus at TGS this year then it is dead to me.
2013 is the year of Sony.......Sony may have to push some of its exclusives to 2014 Q1 to give this game a fair chance to make the sales it needs to.
Best of it we may see more vita exclusives then ps3 exclusives.
