Darksiders II Review | VideoGamer

VideoGamer: "You could ask for Darksiders II to be more imaginative, then, and it would be nice to see some sharper puzzles, tighter combat and loftier jumps, but for a game obsessed with revenge and murder Vigil has crafted something with a surprising amount of heart." (Darksiders 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 8/10

Great game so far. Feels like the first one mixed with amular, only better than both.

Played a couple of hrs and its a letdown for me

Artsyle n such is awesome but combat is sameish mostly. Well there are some cool moves but you gotta do it to all the mobs all the time.

Regardless I think it took a lot from many games and didnt nail any of it.

Prince of Persia movement mechanics but not fluid.
God of war movement bits but again not fluid
Puzzles are boring and more of an impediment and not exciting to figure out. At first its ok but then later it uses the same tricks over and over.

No new puzzle for a new setting like GOW did. The puzzles in GOW made sense according to where you were in the story also Uncharted was a good example of puzzles within context.

Here for puzzle they thought lets randomize the puzzles with a few constants. Corruption, constructs, jumping and grabbing and some stuff. Repeat fest.

The setting is huuge but empty. It never feels lived in. And to make it look like there has been some damage done to the world, add more corruption thingy here and there, ummm thats not immersive. You can literally count and remember the number of ppl in the world besides the monsters. Thats how empty it is.

Graphically its blandish, textures low res, theres an empty feeling. But love the art work. They totally understand colours and shapes.

Death feels so weak. Was expecting badassery from the beginning.

I still have more to play, so will see if it improves but I may just stop playing. I had same problem with Darksiders 1 kinda stopped playing after 8 or so hours.

Anyone looking for a mature game like GOW then no dont pick it up. This is like Zelda with more violence.

Cheesy plot, cheesy dialogue, bad guy talks bad in a bad tone and good guys seem positive with hope and blah blah.

I was looking for a change honestly.
