already decided ill go with the dead guy.
Darksiders 2 is more my cup of tea
Darksiders 2 is a day 1 for me, i will buy sleeping dogs eventually though.
Once again we stumble upon an article that is comparing 2 games that are completely different genres. Personally I would pick Darksiders 2, but its just my opinion
this is more a "which should you buy" than "which is better" but indeed.
I picked them both up. I just completed Sleeping Dogs and I love Wei Shen (main character), the story is great and keeps you playing. United Front Games did one hell of a job. I had one problem and that was with the audio sync for the weapons, they were off by a few seconds. The story is compelling, they took a piece from GTA IV, but instead of having it at the end they put it in the middle, but still had the ending worth achieving. Some Vehicles control better than others, and theres not too much fighting that over shadows the gunplay. The game is a 8.5/9 at best. I'll start my run through on Darksiders 2 later. I'm really looking forward to Papo & Yo.
just curious, how long did your Sleeping Dogs playthrough take?
It says my play time is 14hours. I think my completion time was between 9 to 12 hours. I did a few side missions and stuff before doing some of the story missions. There are 30 undercover triad missions and 4 police cases. The police cases spand over 2-4 missions a case. @Puddlejumper75, I mean it in a good way. Its a Solid game.
The game is a 8.5/9 at best. You say that like its a bad thing.
Sleeping dogs, but like somone said two completely different games.
darksiders 2's campaign is about 20 hours long, then you got newgame plus mode, arena mode, not counting the loots grinding, so it can easily consume more than 40 hours of your time. sleeping dogs on the other hand, is like 25 hours long including everything from main story to every side missions and collectables, the developers promised 6 months of dlcs, in the future the game's contents will be richer but for now, darksiders 2 clearly has better value.
The review (One of them) said darksiders 2 is 20 hours, with sidequests it isa more like 50. Thats NOT inclusing new game plus and arena. I live in Australia so I have to wait a couple more days till it comes out. That's all I think about all day at work!!
20hours ? lol roger mister
A longer game does not instantly make a game 'better value'. I would rather a 20 hour game that I thoroughly enjoyed more than a 40 hour game that isn't my cup of tea. "Better value" is subjective.
Both! I'll be getting Darksiders 2 next week. Got Sleeping Dogs and pre ordered Fall of Cybertron this week.
http://www.ign.com/articles... ign gave sleeping dogs a 8.5 and gameinformer gave it 7.75. IGN said the story is good and if you want to complete everything its about 25hrs long.(main story being 12 hrs which IMO is kind of short for an open world game) IGN said story is really good and mature GI review said the story is pretty MEH I guess time will tell when i play it, i just hope the story is atleast good since that's a big part of the game if i only had money for one of these 2 than its not doubt darksiders 2, just because its a sequel that has done what Uncharted 2 did after uncharted huge improvements and lots of gameplay
Get both and get a part time job to cover the monehzz
Definitely getting both, but Darksiders II first.
i dont know i really want to play Darksiders 2 but i have too many games i still didn't finish. And i want DOA5 !!! Anyone knows when it's releasing ?
its a fighting game so it wont sale and price will go down very fast so wait
you are probably right. i'm waiting for DOA on PlayStation since DOA2: Hardcore so i was blindly going to buy it day one :) what abou the release date ? any idea ?
its like sept 25th bout 6 weeks away. Doa games get about a million sales. only danger is on sept 11 tekken tag is coming As for these 2 im getting both should get them today if all works out
sleeping dogs ofc because its a open world game and it has more replay value unlike darksiders wich is a hack n slash game...u finish it once and never go back to it. anw stupid article 2 different genres
You do know Darksiders 2 is an open world game too? Also it has a loot system.
pre ordered darksiders 2 on steam and buying sleeping dogs thursday on steam. those and guild wars 2 is about the full retail games im buying this year.
@ProjectDeputy. My friend, Darksiders 2 is not a hack'n'slash game....it is compared to Zelda, so use facts instead of made up falicies. Some may say Sleeping Dogs is just a very story focused open world game, & once it's finished there is no reason to play it again. It doesn't matter what genre of game it is, unless it has a great online component, you can say that once the credits roll, it's all over & there isn't any reason to revisit. It's all subjective, as some may play GOW3, or GeOW3, or UC3, or ME3, or Dead Space, or any other single player game 3-4-5 times, & then some may be like me & once they finish, any & all games (except fighters), it's time to get onto the next one & only revisit the online component of the game, if it has one. I've got my pre-order down on DS2 & I will be taking some trades in to hopefully get Sleeping Dogs. I would like to finish Darksiders ASAP, so I can start playing the sequel straight after, as otherwise after I buy it tommorow, just like my masses of other games, I will look at it in a month & question why I bought it for full price, & didn't wait for a price drop as I haven't even started the damn thing.
Darksiders II is a cross of Zelda and god of war
i am so playing both i have darksiders II now so next month sleeping dogs
Both games look good to me. But I'm getting Sleeping Dogs first. I love Hong Kong action cinema so this will be great fun. I'll probably get Darksiders 2 also later. I enjoyed the first so hopefully DS2 is even better...
Yeah same here Sleeping Dogs first then Darksiders 2 at a later time.
