Weeaboos With Controllers | Review: Demon’s Souls

WWC: Note - Demon's Souls is a game that came out long before our website was around, so we decided to go back and review what is easily one of the best RPGs of this generation. Enjoy.

"I suppose we have all forgotten how we all used to play video games in the 16-bit era; without the help of cheats, guides/walk-throughs and the internet. We used to rely on our own imaginations and curiosity in order to explore and advance in our adventures. Nowadays we have innumerable ways of finding out how to progress through a video game easily. However, as much help we may find and gather (even from other players themselves), there is no humanly possible way to advance “easily” through a game like Demon’s Souls." (Demon's Souls, PS3) 5/5

And don't forget, it showed how to do a limited edition the right way. A full / physical copy of the mini guide (not 1/8 of it like Dark Souls and downloaded), physical copy of the sound track, and a nice art book.

Yeah I noticed they cut back on the physical extras for the limited edition of Dark Souls, I was quite disappointed it would of been great if it was all physical like Demons Souls.

Anyway I still prefer Demons Souls over Dark Souls it's a shame it didn't get as much attention as Dark Souls did just because it was a PS3 exclusive and not multiplat.

Dark Souls was awesome, but Demon's Souls has much better PvP and weapons-balancing. The problem with Dark is that anything Lightning +5 is so much better than anything that scales with your other stats, that it severely limits the kind of character you can realistically build. I loved the diversity of character types in Demon's.

Hmm, I like Dark souls more for a few reasons(bonfire system was nice/Health flasks, open world was shockingly well designed, epic level design with the likes of Sen tower etc), your whole paragraph is true though. I would call them equal and neither are better.

Also yeah tower of latria is one of my favorite places in the souls series. Was great for Pvp

"Anything +5 Lightning is so much better than anything that scales with your stats..."

Um...No...No no no no no...No....

Anybody who plays Dark Souls competitively will tell you that's a load of bunk...In fact an elemental enchantment is ONLY better in one regard and that's if your Endurance gouging.

And as far as diversity goes...I'm sorry, I couldn't disagree more, in Demons Souls there were maybe 3 or 4 effective builds that people used, in Dark Souls theres close to 13 or 14. I see tons more diversity in Dark Souls then I ever saw in Demons....

I'd have to agree as well. I've been playing Dark Souls intensively all year and there are a lot of effective ways to experiment in PVP. In my opinion, the only thing about the PVP in Dark Souls which could be seen as worse than Demon's Souls is the back stabs, they are horribly broken.

demon souls was definitely one of those games that surprise me
its definitely one of those games that you have to be very careful on who you kill and how many times you been killed.
YOU WILL SUFFER THE CONSCIENCES AND TURN THIS GAME INTO SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT.

and yes this is one of those games that we need more from

I loved every minute. But personally I found dark souls a TAD more fun. I enjoyed the world more.

i just beat it today, for the first time. its my favorite series. i almost beat it a few years ago, but someone stole my copy and i never took the time to get it back and deleted my save, it was sooo fun replaying it though and finally beating it!

I completed it in around 30 hours , after spending 100 on Dark Souls first. Was not that hard looking back , the tower of latria was a pain though.
