Girl Gamers: Game Experience May Change During Online Play

Why female gamers have a tough time being taken seriously by the hardcore crowd. Does the online gaming community need to get it's act together and accommodate for girl gamers?

I read the article and I'm sick of these articles we get flooded with them. I think that people are just going to find A#oles where ever they go online and offline we all get some heat from time to time, and I don't make a big deal about it. If Girl Gamers are having a hard time in a lobby than they can leave, and thats that. If they/you stay in the lobby and let your self get attacked by other gamers and get upset about it than its your own fault. You can leave or mute them, if messages become a problem block them,Report them,change your account name, or make a diffrent account(like you said more or less in the article).

I can understand wanting to meet a guy/girl online and share intrests of video games with, but COD is not a dating site its a game. Other than this being an extreamily boring and tired topic thats seems more like spam now a days, you did do a good job and maybe I was to fast to vote the site down, but seeing this topic come up over and over again I lost all controll, just like this whole lesbian/gay gamer thing which is just ridiculous, why can't they just call them selfs gamers and leave it at that whether your a girl,lesbian, or gay gamers where gamers we don't need an extra lable, we play the same games.

Im also tired of people trying to turn gaming in to a "dating site" I just saw the other day a gay guy that wanted to start a gay gaming website just so he could meet other gay gamers and date them. -sigh-

There is already false stereotype of Gamers portrayed by the media as a nerdy and violent individual with no social life. It seems the influx of all these articles is trying to turn gaming as a whole into a Girl thing. If we are not careful, we gamers will suffer the same perception that soccer gets in USA which is "Its a sport for girls".

Are girl gamers trying to take over? Instead of integrating quietly into the gaming community like the rest of us. The truth is that just like in many sports, Gaming is a male hobby. But i am glad there are also females involved in gaming.

First, you guys choose to call it soccer .

Second, you guys say it is a sport for europeans and weaklings.

Third, you then say its not a man's sport an its for girls.

I enjoy NBA, NFL so why cant you accept our sport.
