Mike Bowden compares the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the Devil May Cry 4 demo. After giving each version a thorough testing, he finds differences almost non-existent.
Another pointless comparison! There is NO difference in graphics its just the picture color. One looks darker than the other, ofcourse that does NOT make any of them better. <mod edit- please do not attack other site members>
man that JamieSI jumped on your comment rather qickly lol ..... .... .... .... ...A MANY THANKS GO OUT TO MvC Xtrm ...AND bubbles .... ... ....."The JOEY has Spoken"
The Joey has spoken ...Edit: Awe, thx man. I could use a bubble or 5.
i bet you the guy didn't even bother doing the comparison.. he just didn't know what to write so just did the de riguer "let's compare xbox vs ps3 games" that writers so often do when the try to pretend that they are really gaming journalist..
I bet you didn't even read the article. :)
i think the last 20 comparisons showing no difference wasn't enough. we need 20 more.
we need 50 more apparently....
How many more comparison posts saying the games are the same are there gunna be? -_-
worry about something that does matter, like the controls
Oooooooh you've opened a can of worms there o_O
The controls feel pretty much identical between the two, minus rumble of course.
I am a 360 fan and owner of all platforms, and after the first comparison shots came through that showed the 360 version looking much sharper and detailed I thought this was another example of a multiplat where the 360 version was superior.
But when I downloaded both demos, I kept going back and forth between them and couldn't distinguish a frickin hair of difference between the two.
That's because you were playing the game in motion. If you look at the still shots, the differences are major. - http://www.ps3forums.com/sh... But like what Dark Sniper said ( http://forums.n4g.com/What_... you wont notice it in motion.
Even if this is true so what? unless your going to pause it or take snap shots of it, it won't matter. lol
That's my point. It won't matter. EDIT: Sweet! I'm getting random disagrees!
oo ok. haha that sucks. Sometimes it doesn't really matter what you say you will get a disagree by someone who doesn't like the console your a fan off.
http://www.gamersyde.com/ne... These are both lossless captures, so they should rule out any artifacting. Though as some have pointed out the PS3 shots are a bit more blurred due to the PS3's analog (component) output not being as sharp as the 360's. Thanks goes to the fellas over at Beyond3D for their technical knowledge :)
YOU SEE? COMPONENT.
So no matter what console you own you can buy a copy of this game and rest aassured that the version you have bought it the best.
Wow, that puts my mind at ease...........
Strange either this guy needs a proper tv or needs his eyes testing. For me the 360 one is noticebly sharper. There you go. That is my opinion and we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Coolies. Gonna pick this up. Now no more comparisons :D
Just when you thought all is well and Fanboys were getting along, here comes Xtrm to stir sh!t up...Unintentional of course, but this just what I see. My Comparisons: http://img138.imageshack.us... http://img338.imageshack.us... http://img502.imageshack.us... http://img208.imageshack.us... (Personally, I thought the Xbox 360 version had slightly more defined textures. However, I'm using an Elite 360 with HDMI. Perhaps that has something to do with it)
How blind are people. The PS3 version is better if you have time try going to this location and than take your screen shots. Exit the tunnel to the ship yard take a quick left up the ramp. There is a railing to stop you from moving on, so this is a perfect time to manipulates the camera and compare textures etc. They are not identical !!!!!
360 wins yet again. Thanks.
There are minor differences, 99% Identical.
My comparison vid. My girl and I agree The 360 has sharper but grainy textures. PS3's are smoother. She thinks it looks best on PS3. I can't say that because in certain areas one looks better then the other I hold opinion until final games release.
Pretty much proves what we've seen in the pics from PlayStation- forums.
Dub, which version of your video is he floating off the ground? I hate when games do that and guys float down flights of stairs.
thats the 360 version. I noticed that too.
The PS3 seems to be good at making the character act more realisticly with the environment etc. Like in uncharted if I walked over a body. Drake would have one foot on the guy and look balanced rather then the same stand animation like alot of games do which makes it look like levitation.
"Finally I cracked it. The controls! Rumble! The Playstation 3 doesn’t have any rumble! It doesn’t vibrate when you get hit like the 360 controller does. It doesn’t shake in tune with Beryl’s footsteps, it doesn’t.....you know....rumble." ---LOL, owned.
Errr, the dualshock3 rumbles.
??? ....DS3.... ???
on my PS3
LOL at the disagrees. No really it does actually rumble. GITPWNED, the OPEN zone is thataway ----->
"What I do tell the boss? He’s just asked me to do a comparison article in order to get the hit-rate up and cause a mini internet explosion"
once again confirming that capcom knows more about its games than fanboys do...
Having both systems connected via hdmi to a 50" 1080P TV, I can say for certain that there is ABSOLUTELY no graphical difference between the two. No framerate differences - nothing. Anybody who says otherwise, just absolutely must convince themselves that their console of choice was a good buying decision. "I just have to convince myself ... I just have to". The only thing that a multi-console owner should be concerned about is which controller they like best. Rumble is built into the PS3 version too, so when DualShock 3 is released or imported, this point is mute also. Bottom line: Both versions kick A$$
Bubble for you dude.
...what you said, but the grammar nazi in me just has to say this.
"...this point is mute also."
It's "moot", not "mute".
I'm not sure why, but when I see something like that I want to kick small rodents.
@17.2 I suffer from that same ailment. I can't stand when people mix up their, they're and there. I just punch a midget in the back of the head.
PS3 version has better audio and faster loading.
whys it always the ps3 fanboys that always gotta start all this bs.
Why the hell would you compare demos ? Lol
The lack of rumble, when the game does support rumble in the PS3 verion. Great comparison. By great, I mean useless.
and the PS3 had better controls.(I have both and waiting on the Wii version)Ha! So should I go with the "Graphics/Rumble/Achievem ents" or just "tighter controls"? Anyhow I got a couple of days...I'll play them 2 DEMOS again..
If you are going to pretend you aren't biased you could at least pretend to be objective, by pointing out that there is an option for PS3 owners that need rumble that badly, that the same achievements are on the PS3 and can be shared to others that own the game, as well as other features such as HD Install, and better sound quality if you have the audio system to support it. In other words this should actually be a tough decision for owners of both consoles. Choose whichever best fits your interests, whether it be load times or gamer points.
woot, after the 78th time we finally know that there is no graphical difference, can we give it a rest now?
360 version has screen tearing as stated by 1up. NEXT.....
Run both on hdmi, they are both the same.
Run one on hdmi and one on component, hdmi is better.
So basically they are the same.
Blood sinner, those pics, 360 was using hdmi and ps3 was using component. Get a clue will you.
Look at these pics, and then look at those shots again.
Notice the blur, even in the ps3 xmb using component.
First up Component.
Then we have HDMI
Look at how much sharper everything is, not to mention the contrast.
FLick between the two. Its a major difference.
PLAYSTATION® 3's version of DMC 4 is held in higher regard due to it's more comfortable controls. The XBOX 360 version feels quite uncomfortable when locking on to a target with the right bumper button. Dark Sniper feels that it should have been re-routed to the triggers.
Also, the rumble effect is present in the PLAYSTATION® 3 build as well for those who have their Dual Shock 3 controllers.
PLEASE stop with the comparisons!!!! We all know the 360 and ps3 are closer in performance when it comes to multiplatform games. This isnt the genesis vs snes version of mortal kombat anymore. First party and 3rd party exclusives are where each system should shine yet even that wouldnt be a good comparison as because of the nature of exclusive in the first place. No more! Play the games on the system you like and stop trying to find reason to belittle the other.
He doesn't have a Dualshock 3 apparently. :P
This game could look like complete $hit and I'd buy it. As long as the gameplay and story keep on rockin'.
XBOX version £10 ($20) cheaper in the UK, that's a big difference.
PS3 version was the winner hands down last time they did a comparison all their hook up s and equipment were all wrong. Making the PS3 run component when it should run an HDMI Cable. Settings weren't right. HDMI Setting Full not limited and set Super White HDMI Setting. Once combined destroyed the 360 version in graphics. Controls on the PS3 were a lot smoother and faster. Overall PS3 owned all on Devil May Cry 4.
I think teh Wii version has alittle more jaggies.
Let's do a rumble comparison...
Then you might get the point of the article. Maybe.
