PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Preview: More than Meets the Eye | GamePlox

GamePlox Writes: "I realize that me discussing Smash Bros. in the same vein as PlayStation All-Stars is a relative mistake, especially after I got my hands on it, so I won’t be bringing it up after this. I just wanted to emphasize what many others have tried: the fact that, once you play it, Nintendo’s multiplayer brawler will gradually slip from your mind entirely. The similarities are there, sure, but the execution makes it an almost entirely different experience. (PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, PS Vita, PS3)

In less than a week, more reveals for this game at Gamescom

:)
Rockefellow  +   958d ago
I think it would be fantastic of them to reveal things that weren't among the leaks. It'd be impressive, and probably pretty funny, too.
Relientk77  +   958d ago
Well honestly I dont know what to expect, I am assuming they are revealing 3-4 characters like they said. They may reveal levels and game modes though I guess. I'll be checking this week for the reveals

*edit: It would be funny everyone who saw/posted the leaks would be confused and suprised

This is probably the best article ever written about this game. He mentioned how its just a beta so bugs and balance issues are all understandable, he talks about the variety, and how it is it's own game. I'd like to add I personally like how every stage is random in what appears where and when, like the pits in Hades stage, or what is built and where in the LittleBigPlanet stage (for the things on each end of the stage). This feels like its coming out to be an amazing game. Cant wait to see what the final roster looks like.

Agree, a well-written article describing the pros, cons, and everything about the game and not being overly postive or negative

If the leak is correct there are more pick up items to come. Also Superbot themselves said that this beta is an old build of the game. So I am guessing the newer beta will function a lot better. They said they would be watching and recording data to tweak and adjust things accordingly.I am also sure that a few extra modes should add some variety to the game as well.

More than meets the eye
Is the perfect tagline for this game. IMO the Supers need little balance. Not every level 1 is created equal, neither are the other Tiered Supers. Sly's LVL 1 MIGHT get you 3 kills, but his LVL 2 is not so good. SweetTooths LVL 2 is more of a 2 kill super, but his lvl 3 can get you maybe 6 kills. it adds parity, and diversity to the gameplay.

It's a good thing the developers are taking notes on all of this for the final game. I've experienced all of what you say, and I also think that Kratos's level 3 is the most overpowered- he can get up to 6 kills pretty easily, along with Sweet Tooth's. Another problem is Parappa's level 3; it insta-kills everyone, but it's not user-interactive and he's at a fault because he can't kill everyone twice, like we just mentioned.

Still fun, though!

Yeah
and Kratos lvl 2 is a one kill unless your really close or are under people and can use it as a vertical attack.

My strategy is to play "stay away" from a person with a level 1, since most of them are close range attacks, and I jump whenever they use one. If poeple use that strategy against me I wait for mu level 2, if my level 2, I don't find a good oppurtunity to get 3 kills with my level 2, I wait for my level 3.

By the way I meant *disparity*

level 2 is parappa's go to super move. considering that parappa is a close range toon they need to bump up his super gathering ability.

p.s. i loled when i first saw parappa's level 3
sinncross  +   958d ago
but that's the point of his level 3 in that you will always get 3 kills. Kratos can get more but he can also get nothing from it either especially if you are playing against really good players.

Fat Princess for life
I feel among all of them she's the most balanced... Sweet tooth is way too over powered even in his moves! But I love the parity of the supers. I especially love the the stages.. its a creative mashup that takes the term to not just characters but franchise mash ups in stages. I can't wait to see the full roster, modes, items and stages.
Rockefellow  +   958d ago
I really think I'm more excited to see all of the confirmed stages than anything else. The characters are important, sure, but for some reason I think that the combination of two franchises for stages is just awesome, and just the levels in the beta were enough to get me excited; I can't even imagine what 10+ more stages will yield.

Love beta but I cant believe its delayed. I hope more awesomeness characters are announced.
