Eight Reasons I'm *Not* Playing Mists of Pandaria

Here are eight very opinionated reasons as to why I'm NOT playing Mists of Pandaria, and why Blizzard couldn't pay me to go back. If you share my pain, come on in and add your own reasons! (Blizzard Entertainment, PC, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria)

1 reason should be enough........GW2 enough said.

Some might label this trolling, I label this the truth!

I played it I disliked it. So a break for me until a new decent. Mmo comes out not just a flavor of the month
yeahokchief  +   283d ago
1 reason. it's a casual, profit driven children's game.

pretty much the exact opposite of what they were releasing back in 2002-2009.

I dont really get the hate for this expansion or WoW as of recent.
annus  +   283d ago
It feels like WoW has turned into this:
Log in and sit at city.
Raid.
Log out.

There feels like there is no reward any more, everything is so faceroll, and if it isn't, it gets nerfed until it is.
Zha1tan  +   283d ago
So your saying there is barely any challenging content anymore?
rdgneoz3  +   283d ago
They removed challenging content a while ago to make it "user friendly"... The talents were too complicated as well so they're making them user friendly. They basically are dumbing down things to make it so its not challenging or too complicated to understand.

You use to feel a sense of accomplishment when you faced and beat the end bosses, now they have LFR where if you have at least 1/3 of your raid at the keyboard you get free epics,, though the person afk half the time can still win them over you... The other hate might be from the asian panda expansion...

But yah: log in, raid, do dailies, log out. Hell, with the new factions in panda land, you're gonna have to grind them doing dailies (farmville, yay...) instead of being able to get the rep in dungeons and enjoy it a little bit.
Zha1tan  +   283d ago
Even though it has been made easier since vanilla I think some things they have done have made it better.

Back in vanilla I was about 15 so I had all the time in the world to grind it and play it all day.

Im 22 now and well I have other responsibilties and how they made it quicker to level was to be honest a welcome change to me though I dont like how they changed the talents around and made the content easier.

And lets be honest they can never truely change the game completely to keep up with modern standards, its round about 8 years old now and showing its age so the base mechanics are old fashioned grind grind grind and people expect something more compelling from games these days, they need an incentive. It will be interesting to see what blizzards new MMO wil be.

Il still play it as no other MMO is really that good or has a big enough player base that ive played (I might be being ignorant here, open to recommendations) and everyone is hanging their hopes up on Guild Wars 2 like they did with Star Wars and im not making that mistake and buying into it again on launch, il wait and see what happens with GW2.

If it takes off and players recommend it enough il give it a shot but until then i can listen to all the jeremy sole epic soundtracks on YT I want its still an unproven product.

And on a side note you can get disagrees for asking a question? some retarded people on this site.

@ Zha1tan

"everyone is hanging their hopes up on Guild Wars 2 like they did with Star Wars and im not making that mistake and buying into it again on launch, il wait and see what happens with GW2."

This is the best approach these days with mmo games.

- Its one of the tackiest interpretations of Asian culture that's been seen in a while.

- It continues the gear-bloat, gear-treadmill instead of actually addressing the issue. Very little challenge as others have said, its just a refined skinner box.

- Still no new character models (they're coming, supposedly, but without any new timeline)

- Game overall is showing its age.

- Learning class mechanics a 5th time. I mean, leave it alone already.

- Pandas just don't sit well with some people. I know they've been in the lore before (as an April Fool's joke originally), but basing an entire expansion on them is just odd. Equally as strange as making one on the Tusakarr.

Off the top of my head. I could make quite the list if I really thought about it.
Kaylith  +   283d ago
I agree with all these points entirely. When I saw the changes to my class (Holy Paladin) I was at first excited, and then I sat back and thought about it. Good feeling gone.

The game is indeed showing its age, and while that's to be expected--Blizzard doesn't show the slightest inclination to give its players a game worthy of 2012. They're beating a dead horse for all they can at this point.
SavageFlamingo  +   283d ago
I'll still play it.
SavageFlamingo  +   283d ago
Lol. Apparently people disagree that I'm going to play it. Psychics I guess.
jimmywolf  +   283d ago
or they are saying i agree i will still play it too or i disagree i won't still play it
LoaMcLoa  +   283d ago
It's been way too easy since WOTLK, that's my main reason.

Oh right.. Diablo 3 was an awesome game and nobody would ever boycott Blizzard over it... ROFL!
CouldHaveYelledUiiW  +   283d ago
While I agree with all of the writer's points, I can't say that I won't try it.

Blizz makes good games.
The worst of the game is dealing with the Elitist and the trolls who try to strip the game of all of its exploration and discovery.

If they would allow for the impatient and the Better than Thous to select their own dungeons, it would be better.

They should just have a button at Q that asks,
"Are you patient?" or
"are you Perfect?" or
"Do you like to screw over your party on purpose?"

If they aren't patient and they think that they are "Perfect" they could be put into groups of like minded individuals.

(The last would not help but the first ones would.)

More buttons to consider:

1. Do you scream slurs at your party in capslock when things don't go your way?
2. Do you ninja loot?
3. Do you have the patience of a 5 year old on meth?
4. Do you know your class?

The list goes on. I approve.

LOL
3. Do you have the patience of a 5 year old on meth?

Wish I could install the original 5 discs and not update, and go back to farming gear with 39 other people in my raid, and trying to make 150 gold off my black lotus, and making 30g a stack off Mithril, and finishing that epic quest for my Pally mount....

I wish the game gave you a sense of accomplishment instead of simply giving away gold, epics, and anything that you once had to work for. I remember whenever a guildy obtained an Epic riding mount, that s*** was cause for a week long celebration and the usual take it to Goldshire and race someone to Westfall...lol
Kaylith  +   283d ago
I agree. I remember my warlock quest epic mount, and now it's just...Free stuff. Everywhere. All the time.
