For the longest time, there was a chorus of gamers forecasting the death of PC gaming. But the number of naysayers is rapidly evaporating—recent reports show PC gaming is now poised to overtake consoles by 2014. And in some ways, this trend has been years in the making if you consider that, unlike consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360 that are based on six-year-old hardware, PCs can be upgraded and tweaked to accommodate the newest games.

It's a PC! It's already better than a console!

Burn CD/DVD/Blu-ray, do your taxes, manage payroll, do your homework, do work work, folding@home, seti@home, video skype, make music, make and edit videos, record TV shows, engineering software, educational software, job training software, learn a new language, control other machines and electronics, monitor your house and home security, run a business, Writing STUPID articles about PC vs. Console to post online etc etc..

These are just a small few things that a PC can do OTHER THAN PLAY GAMES!!!

STOP making it seem like a PC is just a "TOY" to play Games on cause it is NOT! My PC's make me $MONEY$ and they have paid for themselves and for other things as well.

A PC is a very important tool that has the ability to quickly share information and ideals globally and instantly and is a great assistant of human progress and understanding the universe, Oh and it just so happens to play games too!!

Happily when Next Gen consoles come complete with x86 CPU's then all these STUPID PC vs. Console articles will STOP cause Next Gen consoles will be PC's!!

One more thing, the guy gave a lot of good advice on PC optimization but he forgot ONE important thing: CLEAN your REGISTRY!

A messed up Registry is the reason for poor performance and so called "bad Drivers". When your Registry is full of errors and unused data your CPu has look at all that crap to find the proper path and this waist time and causes errors. CLean your Registry folks.

Lol that is easy.. Steam even updates my games automatically in the background. I can choose to play before or after udating. I like pc because it's convenient.

I love steam :] and my PC, but for some reason I still play on my PS3 a tad bit more.

I was addicted to TF2,Shogun 2, and L4D2 for the longest time. One game i've been meaning to get is Red Orchestra 2 (love me some WW2 shooters, Die! Nazis Die!! AHHH HAHAHAAA!!) lol

Every single time I see this I just shake my head at how clueless the person must be.
Companies to not wait til launch day to suddenly decide what will be in a console. That is done years ahead of time. The Cell was made in 2003. How exactly is it only 6 years old?
It just shows that most people are actually clueless when it comes to gaming companies.

Yes the 360 launched in 2005 with technology from 2006..SMFH

Yeah mine too. It's a shame that devs don't push the technology envelope anymore. Everything has to sell five million copies and run on current gen consoles to have a chance of being successful.
