The War Z - Developers Answer Questions About Similarities Between War Z and DayZ

Many fans of DayZ and The War Z, both games being online zombie survival titles, have been constantly fighting over which game will be the better game, with many claiming that The War Z has just copied DayZ. Well, the developers of The War Z have heard your cries on their official forums and have answered some of the major questions you had.

"The game was actually in development long before DayZ had even become popular, and with that game’s subsequent rise in popularity, the developers were pretty much forced to announce the game a bit earlier than planned, now having “to work faster and harder ” to stay in line with the title announcement."

Okay, I'll grant them this, but what I find strange is the fact that its due to be released by the end of the year and a beta is coming sooner than that. Sure, maybe they wanted to wait until Fall to release the screens and videos, but not having anything ready to show so close to release seems strange.

I hope they do well with this, but really think this will be more of a "shooter" than Day Z. Not that that's bad, but I'm not sure anyone should expect this to be the same as Day Z. Should be judged on its own merit.

I give them the benefit of the doubt, the screens shown, show a good amount of work. Takes a long time to build a game up from scratch.
