With New Super Mario Bros. 2 about to hit stores, it's prompted a lot of debate about the Super Mario series as a whole. Nintendo Life decided that it would take on the list that cannot win, and declare its favourite Super Mario games. Only games that are part of the core franchise are included, so no spin-offs, remakes or re-releases are considered: meaning 14 titles were in the running.
