Olympic SuperStar Michael Phelps is a COD WHORE

Everyone’s favorite 17-Olympic-gold-medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps revealed himself to be a big Xbox player in an interview with ThePostGame back in May. He stated “I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty lately. I find myself playing like 30 hours a week,” a seemingly innocuous statement. But with the Olympics in full swing and Phelps now officially the winner of the most Olympic medals of all time, experts are coming out of the woodwork to warn him against impending game addiction. (3DS, Call of Duty, Culture, PC, PS Vita, PS3, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360)

I agree, it seems like people label any sort of hobby and "addiction" today.

I was watching a show that did just that. It was on science channel or something, and it talks about how literally everything can be a bad thing. A guy was collecting comic book stuff, and a "doctor" called it hoarding. They showed both sides so another doctor said "no its organized and with purpose, so its a hobby/collecting"

They went through all kinds of stuff. Gaming can be addicting etc...Its annoying. I mean lets take phelps for example. He "could be addicted to video games" but HE HAS HOW MANY OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS!? So who cares! The guy can play 30 hours of video games, and still go kick ass at the Olympics, kinda puts a sock in a lot of "doctors" mouths huh.

I guess that just means he's addicted to winning gold medals. Doesn't seem like a bad thing, huh?

marijuana addiction: 400 dollars. video game addiction: 1000 dollars. winning 8 gold medals in the world Olympics: Priceless..

Megaton  +   957d ago
Dude's a beast, let him do whatever the hell he wants.
joab777  +   957d ago
Maybe less cod would have meant more gold lol. His heart wasn't in it this time like last time...won on pure talent. But I agree, leave him alone and let him do what he wants. Hes dedicated every waking moment of his life to one thing. No one is bitching that he has a swimming addiction.
imXify  +   957d ago
Let the guy do what he want, it's not video games that is going to affect anything.

Everything has his time in life. He made some pretty damn beast swimming races, let him rest !

ChunkyLover53  +   957d ago
There is no other place I'd rather live to be 100% honest. It isn't perfect, but we actually have choices here and America was built on freedom and hope, which is something we have.

I believe America to be the greatest place on Earth. I don't really care who agrees, bottom line is that what we do, is followed closely by the rest of the world.
Moncole  +   957d ago
Stop with that freedom garbage. Almost every country has freedom the ony countries without freedom are the 3rd world countries. America has lots of violence, no free health care and isn't at th top for education. I

Typical american 'proud' comment. Plase give it a rest.

Not all countries are sri lanka. (with all the respect I have for those people they are indeed and sadly very poor and exploited)

This is fairly old news, I remember watching an interview with him back in 2008 after his amazing performance in Beijjing, he was talking to an Activision executive and then close to the end of the interview, the interviewer was like, we know you're a big COD fan so here's a free copy of World at War 2 months before it hits store shelves....
THESHAUNZY  +   957d ago
I like how samoon didn't read the article at all LMAO! its about gaming addiction... the whole COD WHORE thing that was for hits... just saying
TheSuperior  +   957d ago

The bigger shock would be if the news said he didn't play it.
VonBraunschweigg  +   957d ago
I ran into him a couple of times. He wears his medals instead of dogtags, so you can hear him a mile away and he's slooow. What's that noise creeping around? Well it's Michael Phelps:) Bada-Bing!
Denethor_II  +   957d ago
Wow he's so unique in his choice of video games.
