From the PlanetXbox360.com feature article:
"With Nintendo’s Wii U just around the corner, I thought that it may be a good time to begin looking forward to the next Xbox’s launch. For one, when considering what Microsoft has done in the past (shortcomings and successes alike) it becomes a tad bit easier to form a picture of what they may be planning to unleash come fall 2013 (the time period I expect that the new console will hit shelves). Here’s a list of a few things Microsoft should do to ensure that the Xbox 360’s successor is not a flop."
.... backwards compatibility is a MUST.
Really important in trying to draw in early adopters.
10. Don't call it the 720.
9.MS has never forgotten about the hardcore. That is a Sony fanboy lie. CoD, BF and most of the hardcore games that people actually buy are on the 360. And sales matter because it is a vote with your wallet.
8. No mass failures. Like that was on purpose. And before some idiot says they might rush it remember they started working on it back in '05.
7. Don't make the HD proprietary. That one is should be number one. Or maybe BC.
6. Don't have a bad launch line up. Does that really need to be said.
5. Don't just make a cheap PC. They have over 200 Computer Architects in-house. They aren't just buying off the shelf.
4. $699. Yes, you're right. That one also seems like a given.
3. MS spend a ton of money getting timed exclusives and they go out of their way to make their system easy to program for and to support developers with engineers.
2.I agree the hard drives need to be huge. TB huge.
1. Of all of the gaming companies MS has been the one to really push variety. A lot of the complaints has been that the 360 does too much. Looking at the leak and the announcements of Surface and Smartglass it seems they have not lost sight of how important it is to do many things.
But two out of ten isn't bad.
But Sony did that to themselves.
I know, I know. You just want good games. And you only care about the games.
I am a playstation fan but i must say my starwarsx360 is the coolest machine i ever owned.
And after 7 years of fanboys war,
I must confess, i cannot find to many bad things to say about xbox360.
Xbox720 And ps4 Day 1 purchase for me.
Like some ass disagreeing with everyone negatively effects the content of the posts themselves.
Let the kiddies have their fun. They will grow up one day . . .
2. Games, Games, and more Games.
Number 2 pretty much lumps in with the above. Oh joy! A hard drive that costs more than the console itself!
How about we ask for something nice instead? Like quit making people spend $50 a year just to play the games that they bought? Being forced to stare at an advertisement every time I start my 360 is fine but when I'm being forced to pay on top of that? Well know, ain't that just swell? Microsoft's ability to double dip and then turn around and convince gamers that paying for online is a "feature," an affordable one at that, is laughable.
