Erik Kain: “Gamers Need To Engage With People They Disagree With”
Forbes writer Erik Kain has hit back at gamers who branded him a "joke" over his most recent article on BioWare and Mass Effect 3 - suggesting that many enthusiasts of the hobby refuse to debate sensibly with people who don't share their opinion.

Not quite sure what the backlash was about. Sure, he made a bit of a u-turn, but what he says is true. Game development is all about learning from mistakes, which BioWare would do well to do with their next Mass Effect project.
Agreed. It seems to me that he still stands by his criticism of the game's ending and various other aspects of the experience. He's simply saying 'wait and see how BioWare's next project goes, before writing off the whole company'. Hardly an unreasonable position to take.
Pity Bioware only built on their mistakes then. Removed the Mako sections in ME2 then pulled back on the conversation wheel and did a crap job of side quest management.
@shodan74: The thing is ME3 isn't the only example: Dragon Age 2 was the first.
At the very least there should be concerns about ongoing projects.
Oh, I agree. Dragon Age 2 was a real disappointment. Don't get me wrong - there's a strong argument to be made that BioWare have dropped the ball of late. But that doesn't mean they can't recover.
Don't forget SW:TOR. I hear nothing but bad things about that status of TOR these days. Again, it was a case of Bioware not listening to fans and just going for the big cash-in instead. They've just limped in with their last 3 entries in a row, it is most certainly time to begin worrying about them or losing hope in them. In the space of just over 1 year they've gone from golden-child and RPG darlings to disappointing, loathsome under-achievers.
Meh it's an online blog , so why cherry pick negative posts from clearly demented or 100% negative folks and write it off as a generality ? Too convenient
It's funny how BioWare stated that you the player develop how the story goes, then when 99% of the players said the ending sucked, they hide behind "hey it's our story. Here's the EC" They didn't deal with the ending's criticism well. Lost a lot of faith in the company
