I'm sorry but Planetside 2 is doing what no other game has done before. It's Bigger and better than anything before it. 600 vs. 600 vs. 600 is gonna be crazy! Plus it's FREE 2 PLAY!
ALSO i think this list is FAIL cause they FAIL to mention Dust 514 which also is offering up some NEW and exciting gameplay variations by crossing over into the Eve Online universe.
i agree about planetside 2 but not about dust 514. I have played the beta for a few months and its a fucking trainwreck. i was really hyped for it too.
lame list. Black Ops 2 should not even be on the list at all.
also I just have to roll my eyes at halo 4 being number one.

well shit, that says it all right there. all about name recognition rather than content. sums up the state of the gaming industry right now.
from a non-biased, non-fanboy perspective, Borderlands 2 and Farcry 3 look superior in every single way, in their gunplay, general mechanics, innovation, co-op, longevity, and graphics (especially with farcry 3). Plus, they are both open world games. halo 4 is just arcadey, casual crap. every 13 year old I know plays halo.
Borderlands 2 will probably be my favorite of them all. And planetside 2 does sound amazing but I think they were thinking console games with this list. And I agree dust 514 was great on paper but the beta sucks bad. So unpolished even for a beta. Maybe it will be good, its going to be f2p so ill give it a shot. But it needs so much work.
I'm pretty much getting all of them except for Halo4. But believe me, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had an XBOX.
One thing I'd like to say though, I don't think Black Ops 2 is that bad. Sure it's made on the same engine, but Treyarch made up for it with all the creativity.

I use 'shooter' rather loosely, as far as Dishonored is concerned.
I am waiting for a version of Borderlands containing all the dlc before I purchase, personally.
At first I was going to mention why Bioshock Infinite isn't on there, but I forgot that will be released in February. I forgot it was pushed back. : (
