Darryl Linington from ITF Gaming writes: The video game industry has been targeted once again for promoting violence, sexual themes and unhealthy marathon gaming. Let’s be real, allowing children/teenagers to play video games that are not intended for their specific age group can be classed as taking a child to an R rated movie, or even supplying them with alcohol while under-age. These ratings and age limits have been placed on the product for a reason and should not be ignored. We support healthy gaming habits and we do not blame the video game industry for any acts of violence or anti-social behaviour. We do however believe it is up to the parents to monitor and track what their children are exposed to.
