Why Borderlands 2 will be Game of the Year

With Borderlands 2 right around the corner it seemed only fitting to glance back at what made the original such an excellent title and hint at why the sequel will be even bigger and better. Read on as we look at three mechanics that made the original title so compelling, we also make direct comparisons between the two titles.

You don't even know if the second game is going to be good and GOTY is obviously going to Resident Evil 6. I know you capcom haters don't want to hear that but the game has been looking amazing and it going to be a hit.

Diablo 3 will undoubtedly get a few nods (despite the rampant hate for it by a huge chunk of the community)

Cant see Mass Effect 3 getting as much as ME2 due to the ending controversy and ME2 being a better game, but alas with the amount of GOTY awards tossed around it will at least get a couple.

Borderlands 2 is hopefully going to get some attention, I am very excited for the game, but I cant weigh in until i actually PLAY IT.

Halo 4 is a toss up, no bungie can be a good thing or a horrible thing, obviously some changes are coming so its a tough call, new species can be complete crap for all we know. (cant get much worse than flood though)

AC3 will really have to WOW us to get any attention considering theres an assassins creed out every year. I know this one is a big jump from AC2x3 but it still needs to do alot.

Unfortunately some will go to that shooter that activision comes out with every October.

Same here, played through the first one so many times I've lost count. Will probably end up playing it again before Borderlands 2 comes out.

No. if it was exclusive it would be the same story. A lot of my favorite games are multiplat.

I'd love for this game to get the recognition is deserves (assuming it's as good as the first one). Regardless, my brother and I loved the first one, partially since it remains one of the few cooperative co-op games that don't require an additional system, and this is our major pick for the year.

Sucks that we have to wait until Christmas so we actually will have the time to play it.

Yeah I think ME3, AC3, and Halo 4 are likely candidates. Though Halo is an old franchise so it might not get the excitement it used to and ME3 had a lot of controversy surrounding it. I think AC3 is the most likely out of all 3.
