I think I paid... $50 for my laseractive. I got it from incredible universe when they were going out of business. That and the sega pac and a few LD games total was $100.
Maybe not the best system but certainly one of the most unique. The damn turbo pac is freakishly expensive these days.
Funny thing about these console lists. They may have failed from a sales POV but they have really boomed on the collectors market.
Yeah, but the collectors market has ruined everything. You used to be able to pick up old and odd systems and games for nothing. Now everyone thinks their stuff is worth its weight in gold just because it's getting old. I still have almost every console I've ever owned, so fortunately I don't have a shortage of gaming stuff, but I wish you could still go to eBay and buy stuff for nothing. I remember when you could get a NeoGeo silver for about $75 - $100... now they're damn near up to their original retail price. At least many of the older games have found their way to new consoles so everyone can enjoy them at a decent price.
I've never played with most 1st generation consoles except for the Magnavox Odyssey and have no interested in doing so. My prejudice is strong against consoles without separate controllers such as the "winner" of this article.
#5-Pioneer Laseractive - $970 and $600 add-ons
#4-RDI Halcyon - $2500

one that every serious collector should have. sometimes the most obscure can be worth $$$ over time.
