343: Halo 4 won't look shabby alongside next gen titles

You misunderstood me, I meant beyond halo 4 and gears judgement. I don't want those two to be the last great looking 360 games.

Well, yeah. This is N4G we are talking about. It's simply another Gametrailers, except it has a large, large wealth of Sony fanboys. Not to single them out, mind you. There are plenty of every kind of fanboy on here (Nintendo, Xbox, PC). Just needed to speak for the vocal majority. With fanboyism comes the talk of exclusives and why they are the only titles that actually matter.

Anyway, my post fell in line with that. Technically, though Witcher 2 can change at any time, both Metro 2033 and Witcher 2 are exclusive to the 360 and were console-specific ports.

It's a very good looking game, no doubt the first wave of nextgen titles won't be the WoW factor we are looking for so sure Halo 4 could measure up against that first wave. but later in the cycle when dev's really get into the hardware I'm hoping not so much.

Rubbish, launch titles should look at least as good as say, BF3 maxed on PC. That's not an inconceivable jump, but one that displays a drastic improvement over current consoles/software.

I don't get the ideology here, they (ms/sony) claim the next gen will yield great results, yet claim (their high profile) current gen games will be able to compete, you can't have it both ways.

Usually at least one launch title from a next generation machine has standout graphics that put everything from the previous generation in the shade.

Thats just launch titles. Once the developers get going, within about a year we have a game that is plainly amazing looking and anyone that says anything from the previous generation stands up to it is probably half blind and drunk.

PGR3 trounced everything from xbox and PS2. When early shots were shown of it, people said it was faked they were that good. http://games.mattsarrel.com... I was blown away by it on a HDTV and convinced me the next gen was here, so I promptly bought a 360. Within a year Oblivion and Gears of War had arrived. Absolutely nothing on the previous hardware was close, obviously.

Even Call of Duty 2 on 360 blew everything away on Xbox/PS2. That was a near perfect port of the stunning looking PC version. http://legacy.the-junkyard....

I am sure Halo 4 will look good and all, but if Microsoft and Sony make boxes considerably faster than their current ones, It'll never live with them and we will have at least one or more launch games that murder everything previous.

All the new consoles need to do is be capable of running 2011 PC games on max settings and Halo 4 stands no chance.

Thats the matter of opinion. For you X360 has the best games, for me it is PS3 and PC :)

PS3 exclusives beats all other games ive seen on consoles so far and thats gonna continue rest of this generation.

I hope it lives up to my expectations, I want Halo 5 and future versions to run 60fps though. I think the shooter genre suffers a bit from 30fps.

I hope the Xbox 720 is backwards compatible and lets me play Halo 4 on it. I don't need a cluster of consoles around my flat screen.

Yeah, if MS has there cloud gaming ready for next gen, I can definitely see Halo4 ran on 720. Along with achievements transfer, scores, records all of it.

Halo 4 is one of the most ambitious titles for Halo. So far everything I have seen tells me this game is gonna be a grand slam for MS.

It does not match up to crysis or metro 2033 on PC and those are not even next Gen. I love halo but 343 just needs to be quiet about halo graphics they are nice and unique but the game is all about gameplay.

I'm really excited about this game. The first Halo was the reason I picked up the original Xbox. Since 2007 I haven't had a proper Halo release! 5 years is too long!

I simply can not wait for this game to come out. been a huge fan since halo 1 and while i am sad that Bungie is not devolving the new trilogy, 343 appears to be doing a great job. SO EXCITED! :D
