Resident Evil 6 dev feeling the pressure to live up to RE4
Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and Eiichiro Sasaki have admitted the development behind Resident Evil 6 is still feeling the pressure of living up to the high standards set by the genre-defining Resident Evil 4.
(PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Xbox 360)
if you feel the pressure then maybe you should have made it more like the old re's intead of making an action game with qte's that involves zombies with guns.
If he really did care about living up to RE4 he wouldn't of made RE6 into a generic third person shooter. It shows you that he dosen't give a crap really
but really...you shouldn't call them Zombies, they are basicaly improved Las Plagas enemies which are called Zombies by Capcom so they can trick people into thinking they have listened to old school RE fans and went back to it's roots.
Capcom are sneaky...it's actually quite impressive in some way how they seem to plan everything out when it comes to this sort of thing, look at the RE6 Leon Demo...it appeared to be scary but wasn't. I bet it's the only level in the game like that.
Shame most of us real RE fans arn't going to fall for this crap
They are probably going to fail big time. I saw the demo videos on IGN and I was less than impressed. I am so glad to see Operation Rac. City go down the sales drain and I hope that if Capcom keeps pushing these COD wanna-be RE titles, we the gamers will stop supporting them with our wallets.
I still think it's going to sell really well unfortunately.Just minus the old Resident Evil fans. There's just so many people out there that just want action, action, action and that's it.
"It was very well-recieved,” they added, “But then if you look at RE5 it was actually our biggest Resident Evil game ever. So in that sense we were able to get the game into the hands of more players out there – probably a lot of new players as well.”
RE5 was the biggest because how amazing RE4 was, people were expecting an even better version of RE4 but it failed to deliver. Thats why it was counted as the biggest disapointment/letdown that year.
Oh...more players.....figures
More players....more money
“So there’s a lot of expectation from fans of both games really, so we’ve tried to listen to the feedback about what people liked about [Resident Evil] 4, and what they liked about 5, and follow up on that and try and incorporate that into the production of Resident Evil 6 and make something that really is appealing to all the fans."
and yet it seems like you totaly ignored what people liked about RE4 and what they hated about RE5. It's like you guys improved of the things people hated about RE5.
For example the co-op was one of the biggest things people didn't like about the game. Yet you've still included it and added onto it....now you can have 4 player co-op, I mean how is that listening. Thats forcing old fans to like the new changes so you can go after the COD crowd. Ruin what your franchise was about for more money...great job Capcom.
All fans...old school RE fans, the ones who got you guys where you are today should of been listened to first and yet we were ignored and pushed aside. All the things people hated about RE5 have been included in RE6 and expanded.
I mean if the guy who made RE even hated RE5 and hates the direction RE6 is going in then you have a problem.
I really hope this game fails...they're greedy approach even inspired EA/Visceral games to do the same with Dead Space 3.
I wasnt a fan of the gameplay for Chris's campaign but Leon's at least looked promising. This guy is writing an essay on 10 mins based of gameplay footage. Noone cares if youve already made your mind up on the game with your biased opinion. Comments like "I really hope this game fails" helps noone.
Make it SCARY then. Amnesia is the last bastion of scary games in existence now without dead space being frightening now. Regen life...easy amounts of ammo...this is gunna be a bore.
I wont buy this CoD-wannabe garbage & I hope true RE fans avoid to buy it also, dont give them reason to believe they r right! at least if some of u want to play it so badly rent it or get it used dont contribute with your wallet in the funeral of horror surviving games!
If this game has any sort of Clear cut levels like RE5 then it wont live up to RE4, RE4 was one BIG game, you literally had to survive in one Singular Large environment, Which in doing so Maintains the inherent spirit of the originals.

Us Horror fans are outnumbered sadly =(
Logged in just to agree with you. So disapointed by what I've seen (of RE6) so far...
Wow...just wow

RIP Horror...
After all the marketing for this and even th demo....i can safely judge this game without playing it
Each campaign is different..
