You know how many people are going to buy PS3s when Next gen consoles are out ? Consumers like the cheapest and that is the best to them.

That way of thinking is SOOOO not working anymore. There are many reasons why so much market share was lost this gen by SONY. NOT being first, NOT being cheapest are 2 strikes against them... while being the best is a mark for them. Why is it that this company doesn't understand the simple concept of having the BEST product doesn't always equal the BEST performance in sales is beyond me. So much of why this company is failing is based on the same principle. SONY NEEDS BIG CHANGES.

YES, look at the Wii. Great products even with great support doesn"t always mean money for the company. So many other factors come into play, Marketing, production costs, target audience income... that was/is a big thing for consoles in particular. What I am saying is the Sony business model is dated, and is no good.

What if they aren't first but better then the others. Wouldn't that be better? Microsoft jumped to be first ahead of the PS3 and carelessly left RROD in their system and it's only through their ability to worm their way out of it that they survived. Personally I will wait for the PS4 if it is well built and has all the features I want. If it truly is next gen I won't tolerate any major screw ups no matter how much they promise to fix it later. Take your time and make it good, not toss me it and use me as a guinea pig. And before anyone brings up the PS2, that was decades ago. If you are saying modern consoles should break down as much as older consoles did then you are a lost cause.

PS4 should come out 2013 and it's as simple as that. If you let a more potent Microsoft get a year start you won't do yourself any favors. I really doubt MSFT will have the same issues therefore a reliable next generation XBOX with a year is dangerous.

Also PS3 came out last yet it is arguably the best system but it is very comparable therefore to consumers a minor slight improvement is not worth a wait for comparable hardware.

I'll get all systems and I don't care when they come out but PS4 is better suited for a 2013 release.

And PS3 is better in some aspects than the others and backwards in the others so it's not like PS3 is the go to choice by any means and it only gets worse next generation.
