Capcom has released an update for its million selling new IP Dragon's Dogma which enables an easier mode of play, which will come as great news for those who just bought the game.
(Dragon's Dogma, PS3, Xbox 360)
It may not be what some what looking for but it will definitely help out newer players who may not be as adept at gaming as others. Can't hate on this issue specifically, but I guess some will hate that a harder difficulty mode was not included. Maybe next time...
I have this game in my Gamefly Queue. The demo really sold me. It was so much fun grabbing onto the griffin and stabbing the hell out of him. I really don't understand why Capcom marketed the hell out of the RE: Racoon City game and not this.
blows my mind that people feel the need to state how easy the game was for them like others will be impressed. all you do is come off looking like an asshole by insulting others who did have trouble.
@summons GOOD FOR YOU. you want a cookie? no one gives a shit how good you are at the game. no cool points here, no soup for you.
Honestly the simple fact of the matter is many people would understandable have difficulty at the beginning of the game. I got killed by the Cyclops during my 1st encounter 2 times.
*shrugs*
I had to learn the game's mechanics. Once you get past that, sure, the game gets easy. But it's just that "noob" part that's a bit difficult when you don't have a level to lean on.
ah but most of my deaths were because my npcs accidently pushing me off a cliff lol ^_^ but I love the game, needs more RPGs with this and Kingdoms of Amalur type of combat :D
Been meaning to buy this game, but I don't see how a mode that removes challenge from the game can be an incentive for those on the fence. It may atract a more casual audience looking to play it for the story or whatever other features the game has to offer, but I'm pretty sure it was the combat that was this game's claim to fame.
I know dude. The warrior class is so broken. Could use the L1 button plus additional skills like throwing knives or some ranged weapon. I generally out damage all of my pawns with any other class, but running around with a massive sword usually means everything will be dead long before I reach them.
Warrior is especially bad compared to Fighter, Assassin, and the insanely overpowered Mystic Knight.
Difficulty was perfectly tuned already imho.... of course, you get merked if you try to take down a golem early in the game, but that's the point of leveling up.... you don't even really need to do much grinding, as-is.... you just play the game and take on missions..
My problem with the game is now that I've finished the main campaign, I fast-traveled back to the main town and can't seem to find where the game picks up after you finish it... hopefully they'll patch this as well.
By finishing the main campaign, I assume you mean you saw some credits and videos of you returning to your home town...? Then you traveled back to the capital...? If I remember correctly, go toward the Pawn's Guild and you'll run into a guard who tells you to go see the Duke.
Does the full version run better than the demo ? I was trying the demo on the PS3 and the slowdown was frustrating , hoping the full version will have remedied the issue to some degree because it looks a great game, but this is kind of a deal breaker for me.
The framerate can stagger at times. I don't remember the demo much, but the only times the framerate dies for me is in the big fights. Such as Gregori and the Ur-Dragon...
So, prolly did get more stable. Because I think the demo was were you played they ore made arisen to fight a chimera, which I had no problem with in the full game. And the second mission was a Griffin hunt, which does not even stagger my FPS at all.
The game was harder than balls up until you unlock advanced classes. Hell, at level 97, those bandits near Witchwood still takes at least two hits from my Heaven's Key dragonforged daggers. I remember burning through curatives on that bastard with the shield at like level 10 or something and barely scratching him.
yea, it blows my mind that some have the nerve to think others find the start of the game harder than them.
I died twice just trying to complete the deep trouble quest against the saurians in the starting town.
there is NO WAY you get thru that first encounter without dieing.
starting off you and your pawn have ZERO knowledge of the world, have little health/stamina and you have no idea how to kill them as they block all frontal assaults.
on top of that you have fishermans gear on and rusty weapons to fight with and NO ONE found that to be a challenge?
don't even get me started on your first encounter with those bandits on the way to witchwood. these people will have you believe they just waltzed thru a dozen wolves and 2 dozen bandits. bandits that can one shot kill you at that early stage mind you.
yea right.
on topic- hope they do add a hardcore mode for those of us that have taken the time to continue playing. level 140 and we need new monsters!
dont know if anyone else did this, but when i started the game i made sure to level up before actually completing any quests, i kept on killing the goblins, which were easy, and went on the beach at nite and fought the goblins there, and sometimes there were saurians. that was the only reason i didn't die in the beginning, and i didn't even do the witchwood quests until i got to like lvl 12, and got an advanced quest, i guess its just how some ppl play.
if someone went upto witchwood rite from the beginning, there is no way they survived, i treid it on my first save file, hated my char so i made a new save file.
wait, people actually don't know that? I don't see how that is possible

doesn't mean it's not hard for others.

Basically the game is to heavy focused of bows and long range, then warrior is left with no way to HIT the Ur-Dragon wings.
They need something like a one handed crossbow or something with some range.

any suggestions?
LETTERBOX!!!! AGH!

I might be able to play it properly.
