PS3 Games and Apps You Can Use On Your Vita Now

GXC: "It’s always a little disappointing when you get a product that was advertised to be able to do something which in reality, it doesn’t. That’s similar to the PlayStation Vita’s situation. [While Sony never officially advertised it this way] Many gamers hoped to be able to pick up this new handheld, go on the road, and play their PS3 games through the device."

There are some PS3 games and apps that will work right now on your PlayStation Vita. (God of War, God of War 2, Pixel Junk Eden, Pixel Junk Monsters, PS Vita, PS3)

I'm still expecting Remote Play to be tossed aside like it was on the PSP. Sony has a habit of making a big deal about things but never pulling through i.e.: PlayStation Move, SIXAXIS

Remote Play wasn't "tossed aside" on PSP. It worked exactly as advertised, and I know because I used it nearly every night on my breaks at work. Before I would go to work, I would put whatever FF PS1 game I was playing at the time in my PS3's disc drive, and on my breaks I would fire up my PSP, connect to the wi-fi at work and I could connect and turn on my PS3 at home and play the FF in the disc drive. Granted, there was input lag like crazy, but that was why I was playing Final Fantasy and not X-Men vs Street Fighter. The lag didn't really hurt FF. Remote play worked fine on PSP.......the fact is.......no one used it.......except me I guess lol.

On topic though, those are the same PS3 games that work on PSP's remote play. And since the same downloadable PS3 games work on Vita's remote play as do PSP's remote play, I bet the one disc based PS3 game that works on PSP's remote play will also work on Vita. LAIR. I bet the author doesn't have Lair to have tested it.

As for the people clamoring for Vita/PS3 remote play. You're not really missing anything, and it's kind of a waste. Because they only time remote play works nearly flawlessly with no lag, is when you're in the local vacinity of the PS3. In which case.......why are you playing it on the Vita when you're PS3 is on anyway? Remote Play would be the greatest thing ever in a world where everyone's internet was as fast as Japan's internet. Few people in America's is even NEAR that fast, and without that light speed internet, remote play is basically useless for gaming.

Though regardless of internet speed remote play always works fairly well for media streaming. But unless you're playing chess or old FFs, it just doesn't work for gaming.

Just responding to why remote play is convenient while a person is in there home. I personally like the option when my girlfriend wants to watch TV in my room where my PS3 is located. Being able to continue playing my game via the Vita for all PS3 games would be amazing.

Likewise using the Remote Play for PSone games particularly RPGS is pretty dang nice. I haven't tried it with any action games but it's pretty awesome.

I'm truly hoping that the feature is eventually worked out for all PS3 games especially the first party games.

After making remote play, Sony realized implementing it may cut off potential sales for ports, etc.

I'm expecting it to be tossed aside because it's not very smart from a marketing stand point if you think about it. They wouldn't make money off of ports and it's basically limiting the Vita to only PS3 stuff and nothing to make it it's own unique console.

That VidZone app would be nice..... If it was even available in North America.

Anyway, it's interesting that some PS3 games work for now but the majority do not. I wonder what's really holding SCE back?

At the moment, unfortunately, no. When the Vita update comes, it has been suggested that the game will work with remote play though. Yes.

Why didn't the Netflix app ever get released in Europe?
IRetrouk  +   291d ago
Yeah good question, still waiting on it.

In the days before I had Netflix and LoveFilm, I used to carry my PSP with me and remotely access the NAS drive connected to my PS3.

So with a good wifi connection I could stream all my content wherever I was in the world.
