GXC: "It’s always a little disappointing when you get a product that was advertised to be able to do something which in reality, it doesn’t. That’s similar to the PlayStation Vita’s situation. [While Sony never officially advertised it this way] Many gamers hoped to be able to pick up this new handheld, go on the road, and play their PS3 games through the device."
There are some PS3 games and apps that will work right now on your PlayStation Vita.
On topic though, those are the same PS3 games that work on PSP's remote play. And since the same downloadable PS3 games work on Vita's remote play as do PSP's remote play, I bet the one disc based PS3 game that works on PSP's remote play will also work on Vita. LAIR. I bet the author doesn't have Lair to have tested it.
As for the people clamoring for Vita/PS3 remote play. You're not really missing anything, and it's kind of a waste. Because they only time remote play works nearly flawlessly with no lag, is when you're in the local vacinity of the PS3. In which case.......why are you playing it on the Vita when you're PS3 is on anyway? Remote Play would be the greatest thing ever in a world where everyone's internet was as fast as Japan's internet. Few people in America's is even NEAR that fast, and without that light speed internet, remote play is basically useless for gaming.
Though regardless of internet speed remote play always works fairly well for media streaming. But unless you're playing chess or old FFs, it just doesn't work for gaming.
Likewise using the Remote Play for PSone games particularly RPGS is pretty dang nice. I haven't tried it with any action games but it's pretty awesome.
I'm truly hoping that the feature is eventually worked out for all PS3 games especially the first party games.
Anyway, it's interesting that some PS3 games work for now but the majority do not. I wonder what's really holding SCE back?
i really hope so.
So with a good wifi connection I could stream all my content wherever I was in the world.
