"3D gaming emerged earlier during the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation and while much anticipation was present during its debut, many gamers have moved on and have learned to ignore 3D functionality. The main issue with 3D gaming on current video game consoles is the fact that the hardware present within both the PS3 and Xbox 360 were not designed with 3D gaming in mind. The idea of 3D gaming evolved during the lifecycle of both consoles and was forced upon hardware that could not support the load efficiently."

VR is the next fad/ era. im so ready for it, PSvita already has the ability and games with it (little bit more than a tech demo) (so sony has the technology). so sony might be back on the map in no time, unless O.R. takes over..
You know what gaming platforms should redefine? Gaming.
3D gaming is a bust, until we get glasses free as a standard, it wont pass
It was tried in the 80, 90 and now and it still doesnt catch onto the main stream
LET IT GO
“The question of 3-D is a very straightforward one,” Christopher Nolan said in a recent interview. “I never meet anybody who actually likes the format, and it’s always a source of great concern to me when you’re charging a higher price for something that nobody seems to really say they have any great love for."

Component set come equipped with 3d setups, most major television brands have their own 3d model tv's, there are 3d dvd players, there are even mobile phones capable of 3d! And least but not last you have Sony the makers of the playstation brand, who also own major motion picture studios backing 3d, so no I don't see 3d going anywhere anytime soon! They might even put it on the backburner, but it will always present waiting for the opportunity to flourish.
I must say, that it does make some games more immersive. I found it easier to play Virtua Tennis with the move in 3D, because it made it easier to time swings with the better understanding of where the ball was at exactly. Also, Tumble is so much easier in 3D as well.
