A reasonable amount of time has gone by, and it is an honor to see that the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system is still the strongest selling dedicated handheld gaming device today. Even when shadowed by the superior Nintendo 3DSXL entertainment system, arriving to stores shortly wherever videogames are sold.

My super Mario baseball cap is tipped in the favor of Nintendo, and all of the hard work they have done to achieve such a victory in the handheld space. Outselling competing devices by a significant margin not only in the USA, but worldwide at that. On a very consistent basis.

The Nintendo quality expertly timed exclusive software releases, combined with the futuristic tech found within the guts of the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system made this all possible. Not to mention the grand and loyal support by Nintendo, and the Nintendo Elite supporters that drove the device to success. Almost landing the Nintendo 3DS entertainment system past the six million mark in the USA alone. A fine achievement that is worthy of celebration.

have a blessed day and happy gaming.

Dude, you're in N4G, not on a press conference... relax a little yes.

Godmars2902294d ago

My Wall of Text Sense agrees.

AWBrawler2293d ago

What does his comment have to do with his sexuality??? I swear internet people can be so rude. I'm willing to bet at least one of those disagrees were from a Gaymer.

On topic: It will be interesting to see what 3DS XL does in the US, and how Wii sales in Japan will be affected by DragonQuest X

KingOptimusOrigin1112294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

3DS might be the strongest handheld but it still lose to the PS3. I know the PS3 is 6 years in but you make it sound like if 3DS is better than every other consoles & handheld out there.

Another thing, how do you have all these bubbles if your trolling like this.

BlaqMagiq242294d ago

No one cares stop trolling on here.

DarkHeroZX2293d ago

If the 3DS is futuristic tech then the future most be pretty bleak lol. I think the vita is more futuristic then the 3DS.

sales chartz is not necessary to us gamers..

Moncole2294d ago

Yes tey are. If a game you like spent get enough sale it won't get a sequel.

GribbleGrunger2294d ago

I agree with Moncole. People often say they don't matter when in fact they matter the most. Which handheld is going to get the most support? the 3DS or the Vita? Isn't it obvious? Unless the Vita picks up (and it doesn't have to beat the 3DS, that's a different argument) it will lose support and we the gamer will suffer as a consequence

kevnb2294d ago

you dont need vgchartz to figure out which system will get support. Vita is going to have a handful of really awesome games despite sales, no matter what.

GribbleGrunger2294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

But not the support it deserves. The industry has changed too much. Once upon a time it was the developers responsibility to help increase the install base by making great games for a system. They would gladly take a hit early on because they knew they'd gain later when the franchise was established and the install base was bigger.

But now developers seem to think it's all down to the company who make those consoles/handhelds to make their product successful, and then they jump on board and reap the benefits. I'm afraid that the pursuit of immediate profits has supplanted the pursuit for innovation. there are still those devs out there but bigger companies such as EA are ONLY interested in making as much money as possible. We could argue all day about that because clearly they have legitimate reason for that to be a major part of their decision making, but it shouldn't be the ONLY reason.

they can make or break a console and they know it. Do they care? Hell no. They just call for price drops from companies that are already losing money to smaller devices that cater for cheaper games that make bigger profits. And what drives these smaller devices? Those same companies that demand price drops. In Britain it's called 'shitting on your own doorstep'

MastaMold2294d ago

@ GribbleGrunger, Sony has alot of 1st party studios to support the PS Vita but your statement is agreeable with good points things will start to pick up at the end of this year and the start of 2013 for PS Vita no worries from this Vita owner :)

Puddlejumper752293d ago

Sony has a lot of studios yes but can they support PSP,PS3,Vita and PS4? Or did Sony already drop support of PSP? Honestly it seems to have been forgotten about completely by Sony and by the Sony supporters.

Slight rebound for the PS3 and the 360, which is good news. The Vita is a bit perplexing, its solid hardware, but the price point is so high right now. I really would like to get one, but I don't have $350-$400 to spend on one and a memory unit that worth a damn and a game or two. Its too much money at this time. If they dropped the price I'd definitely buy one.

The real question is, even though Sony has a lot of studios, they are obviously making PS3 and PS4 games, they have all but abandoned Move, how much support can they actually offer Vita right now? It does have a few titles I'd be interested in, but at the price its at right now, those few titles aren't enticing enough. With the slow sales, it might not be long until 3rd party support drops for the device as well.

Not saying its all doom and gloom for the Vita, but Sony needs to do something.

KingOptimusOrigin1112294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

OMG are you serious its not the price, its the lack of advertising and third party games. Sony is already put or putting out Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, Uncharted Golden Abyss, LittleBigPlanet, & more.

The problem is third party developers keep supporting 3DS and the fanboys like LX-General-Kaos who is praising 3DS like if its his GOD, lack of advertising, and the memory cards are the problem, not the price.

I say wait till Gamescom, TGS, & the next PS Vita Heaven Event before jumping to conclusion.

ChunkyLover532294d ago

How are you telling me its not the price, when I'm telling you I'd willingly buy one if they dropped the price?

Little Big Planet isn't even out yet, so you listed 2 games that are out and one (Soul Sacrifice) that I've never heard of.

Those two games, or even four games aren't enough to entice me to buy a Vita at that price point. I own a 3DS, but I didn't buy one until the price dropped, just like I'd buy a Vita if the price dropped and they bundled a memory card bigger than 4 gigs.

Dlacy13g2294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

@chunkylover53... clearly you don't understand that he has control of your wallet now. LOL it always amazes me when someone says something is too expensive for them and other people tell that person it is not. we all have different financial situations so what is expensive to one may not be to another but it is still expensive to that persn.

KingOptimusOrigin1112294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

Are you mad?

Your not the whole world Chunky. Just beacuse you want a price drop doesn't mean its not going sale with its $249 price tag based off your opinion. How do you know people aren't going to buy it if they start advertising games for it this holiday and bundle it with games and a 8GB memory card with a $249 price tag.

Second of all I said put or putting out Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, Uncharted Golden Abyss, LittleBigPlanet, & more. Meaning first party is supporting the handheld through out the year with a touch of third party:

1.Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
2.Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified
3.Escape Plan
4.Gravity Rush
5.Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F
7.MLB 12: The Show
8.ModNation Racers: Road Trip
9.Phantasy Star Online 2
10.PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
11.Ragnarok Odyssey
12.Resistance: Burning Skies
13.Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
14.Soul Sacrifice
15.Tales of Innocence R
16.Uncharted: Golden Abyss
17.Unit 13

Third of all of course Chunky you don't know Soul Sacrifice but yet your on N4G 24/7 how ironic but yet you spend most of your time complaining about what Sony should do and supporting Nintendo & Microsoft.

ChunkyLover532294d ago

Do you honestly believe that Vita sales wouldn't pick up with a price cut? Don't be so daft, yet again you list a group of games for Vita that aren't too impressive or that aren't even available yet.

The biggest complaints people have for Vita is lack of games out right now, or the price. If they cut the price I'd be interested, don't know any other way to say it. I've seen advertisements for the Vita and its games, but there aren't enough games that interest me for the current price.

Dlacy13g2294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

@kingoptimusO... nor are you the world. Based on the sales of the vita I would say chunkylover53 is closer to the opinion of the world than you are .

edit : and with that mountain of games you listed how is it the vita is still struggling? could it be price because according to your list it's not a lack of games ?

ronin4life2294d ago (Edited 2294d ago )

I don't think Hatsune Miku nor Tales of innocence R have even been confirmed for US at all.
Many of those games are ports or remakes. (not that this point is Sony or Vita Exclusive.... although with their business plan it will be more recurrent)
I doubt Soul Sacrifice will release thus year for some reason... and I'm not to sure about PSO2 either. And Activision have yet to talk about CoD at all.

Puddlejumper752293d ago

Bbls for the awesome point. You'll learn though that some Sony supporters will say or do anything to justify their beliefs even if they contradict themselves in the process.
Project Diva? Are you seriously naming off a gamed called Diva as a reason for a real gamer to own a VIta?
I see a lot of the same games I could get on PS3 for cheaper and since when did sports games become AAA must own exclusives that everyone should rush out to buy. That'd be like someone listing Madden or NBA was reason to own any other console out there. Just because its by Sony doesnt mean its worth owning when not everyone likes sports games.

Seems someones a bit jelly and taking things personally. You mad Bro? or just butthurt

There are a few other factors, but 'price' is a major problem for me too. $350-$400 sounds about right to 'commit' to the PS Vita. I do want it, it's just not right now. With the 3DS being $170, the memory card not being an issue, and hashing out ports left and right but ones I love; made it a much easier choice.

I'm sure the Vita will do fine around the holiday season. Hope I can find a good bundle deal around black friday.

And Sony does suck at advertising. That's the one thing I'll give props to Microsoft for is they know how to promote a product.

DivineAssault 2294d ago

Nah man.. Vita is still an infant & has yet to release the games that make it stand apart from other portable devices.. Now if nx yr by this time theres no stable increase, start to worry lol.. When it gets its 3rd party smash hit (which i think is soul sacrifice) things will improve.. Who else besides sony fans would want a vita right now when all the games are mostly ports? I have one & enjoy it but there is a serious lack of unique software right now..

feeter2293d ago

How is the Vita still an infant... its been out six months(in the US)longer in Japan and its first holiday season is coming up and Sony as a whole is losing money(dont think problems with other divisions dont affect the others)... lack of 3rd party support and slow sales (12% of the handheld market) are a good sign... Sony has to do more and they have been doing very little... it seems as if they are happy with 12% but with losses at Sony I dont think they are... and other publishers will not take many risks on a system that has such a small market share... Yes Sony can put out many games for the Vita but they have to try to get atleast 30% of the market for them to do good... and as of now that looks like a bit too much... the Vita has loads of potential but Sony need to back it up
