Impulse Gamer: Ironically, this is not the first video game to celebrate the 2012 London Olympic Games as SEGA also released Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, however this incarnation for the PC, PS3 and XBox 360 is far more realistic and ironically plays better in our professional opinion. Best of all, this game was designed by SEGA Studios Australia and they have succeeded in creating the best collection of sporting games in a long-time.
With London 2012 now completely finished, Dave Sadd takes a brief look at the parallels between gaming and The Games for Pixels or Death and asks...why not Olympic gaming?
4 years ago since Beijin 2008, SEGA released this year’s London 2012 Olympics video game, hoping to capture the intensity of each event and atmosphere of the Olympics. The London 2012 Olympics is an historic moment for Great Britain, so will the Olympics video game do the same for the gaming industry?
An Olympics game that isn't mediocre!
Ah, the Olympics. The finest international sporting event that comes around every year and fills two weeks of our summer with excitement and anticipation as we cheer our nation on. Unfortunately an Olympics game also comes around every four years to try and share the triumph leading to utter disappointment and a game that can be described as mediocre at best.
Watching the Olympics really makes me want to play this... but I'm not spending $50 to do it. I'll wait for it to hit the < $20 pile.
