The Wii U version of Madden NFL 13 lacks some significant features of its PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 brethren, publisher Electronic Arts confirmed in an interview with ESPN.
The Infinity Engine, which brings real-time physics to Madden for the first time this year, will be absent on the Wii U; that version of the game will use the collision and movement systems from Madden NFL 12. "We definitely wanted to get the physics into the game," explained producer Yuri Bialoskursky, but "it's just something we weren't able to achieve for this first year on the new hardware."
They should not even release the game and just wait until Madden 14.
Yah, true. But this is N4G. Saying pro-Nintendo things here will actually get you down voted. This comment system needs a revamp.
My main problem is that EA is being lazy and they MIGHT use it as an excuse later. For example, if this half-baked port doesn't sell well they might be less inclined to support WiiU.
If you think N4G's comment system needs to change: Bubble Up
They can't do it because it's new hardware for them. Not because it lacks the power.
"Wow this is one of the most crappy ports I have ever heard of. Using Madden 12 engine"
well it is coming from the xbox/ps3 versions, so that doesn't say many good things about those systems.
but-
Ihave to say I don't fault either Nintendo or EA for this.
I would have been a few more sales for Nintendo if it had a Superior Madden but... o'well.
The Infinity Engine is new and obviously want it look its best on all fronts.
And Nintendo hasn't released the whole of their online plan- (for reasons I won't state because it would be flamebait)...
So, I can't blame them- you can- but not me.
Untill someone answer that, I will say Madden Wii U is just Madden 12.
With that the xbox360 version will have the upper hand with smart glass, hopefully all wii-u ports dont go this route
I give Ubisoft credit - they're usually the ones that support new gaming platforms early.
EA's just shooting things at a wall, and hopes that it sticks. -_-
You don't want to support it because this bit of information, though if you don't - sales will be terrible, and then EA won't want to support the console.
I like how they've implemented the Wii U's Gamepad for Madden 2013, so I still might purchase the "inferior" title.
