Metal Gear Solid 4 trophies coming on August 6th

"Kojima Productions’ Japanese Twitter account has outed the release date of when Metal Gear Solid 4 gets trophies. The update will go live on August 6th for the PS3, and you will be able to update it and be able to choose between full install and chapter based installs."

That just may be only in Japan, but even if it is it should only be a little later in the rest or the world so either way that's pretty cool, now I actually have some time to try the game without installs which is what I'm actually looking forward to.

How do trophies make a game better? Or how does it make people just say, "I ve already played it, ive been loving it, now it has trophy support, im playing it again." I guess the question im asking is what makes trophies ona game exite people. They already played it, how different will it be. I'm not arguing or insulting, I'm just asking a question that mightmake me understand this. Please leave a reply. And I already know I'm getting a ton of disagrees.

Trophies add replay value. What's exciting is many people have this great game game, MGS4, that they played years ago just lying in their collection gathering dust and now they have a reason to play it again... to earn the trophies.

Well speaking for myself, I've played and beaten this game 5 times already. Now with trophies it just gives me another reason to play it even more. :)

As for myself, I like to have some kind of permanent trace of it on my profile, some kind of recognition in my collection, it will look great among 100% of MGS2,3 and PW.:)

Like what has already been said, they add replay value.

Look at it this way. Years ago before trophies and achievements, we were collecting Coins in Mario, Hidden packages in GTA etc.

Trophies and achievements are the exact same thing as what we had years ago, which is why I don't get how some people rage about them (not yourself).

What boggles my mind is how long it took for this game to get an update for a full install and trophy support. Don't get me wrong I'm super excited for the update, it's just that now I have to re-purchase the game once more. Oh Kojima, you and your crazy ideas...
