5 must-have PS3 HD remakes

PSU.com writes:

"The Classics HD range for PS3 and other such endeavours have proven a massive success over the past 18 months or so. Not only do they remaster some of gaming’s best from the past decade in lush 1080p, but they also throw in extra goodies such as Trophy and 3D support. This not only gives fans a chance to relive the games again in HD, but also offers the chance for newcomers to experience them for the first time with a modern makeover.

As such, we’ve attempted to sift through the abundance of HD revamps/collections on PS3/PSN, and come up with our definitive list of 5 HD remakes you simply need to get your mitts on." (Beyond Good & Evil HD, God of War 2, ICO / Shadow of the Colosuss, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, PS3, Resident Evil 4)

personally...
i like when they have a compilation of several titles. The sly, ratchet and jak collections are a must have (for me anyway).

I really dig the god of war ones. Especially how they took the psp versions and reworked them for the big screen. The metal gear collection, I would have preferred a remake of the first solid instead of the inclusion of peace walker. Mainly because the 1st through the 3rd are associated to consoles and peace walker was for the psp. To me...it just doesnt fit.

Then again, they would have to start from scratch in remaking the ps1 original. They really couldnt use the twin snakes version as that one wasnt done by kojima.

I just feel you really get your $$ worth on an hd compilation as opposed to just a remastering of a single game. There are so many game series that could get a nice hd remake/compilation. ZoE, Onimusha, GTA...etc.

I also had both god of war HD collections, but sold em later on after I finished them :)

The next I will be getting is the Ratchet and Clank and the Metal Gear Solid.

i hate how they sell the same game rendered at a higher res. Anyone who owns the original should get access to the "remakes", or atleast a discount.

Please don't call them remakes. They are remastered versions.

Remakes are when the assets are created completely from scratch. Remastering is when the assets are taken and touched up to improve clarity and overall presentable quality.

You don't call George Lucas's re-releases of the original Star Wars trilogy a remake, do you? Wanna know what films are remakes? Clash of the Titans, and more recently, Total Recall.
