The Long and Winding Road, Part Two: Sarah Sisulart from Lost Odyssey

BT writes: As we saw last time, Lost Odyssey is a game all about loss. This theme is expressed in simple tropes such as immortals suffering from amnesia, to the more complex, such as the lost memories that characters like Kaim suffer from. Kaim also becomes emblematic of this theme as he goes on a quest to regain his losses, despite how apathetic he thinks he feels.

But to really understand the motivations behind Kaim, it is important to look at his wife, Sarah Sisulart, and his two grandchildren, Mack and Cooke. Kaim, of course, is the main character of the game, but what drives him forward is not just a sense of justice and his sub-conscious desire to find meaning in his life, but also his connections to his family, no matter how much he struggles to remember them.

Such a sad game, but I don't mean that as a negative. It's criminal that a sequel was never made.

My favorite JRPG released this gen thus far.

It's criminal why this IP wasn't made into a franchise like Final Fantasy. It really had the makings.

Jensen is an awesome character.

I just finished playing Lost Odyssey and it is truly an amazing game. I am one of the people that actually like ff13 and 13-2 and I can honestly say this rpg puts them to shame. The short stories in Lost Odyssey had me crying. Just mind boggling how great of an rpg Lost Odyssey is, I really hope more people pick this game up again.
