Sorry but, after playing MW3 for over 3 months. I can safely say that IW is dead and cannot excel in making a proper online portion of the game.
MW3 has set the world record for worst laid out online maps ever in the history of FPS and gaming. Gunbalancing can be fixed with patches, but maps cannot be fixed. The maps just feel terrible, not to mention look bland.
I know everyone here hates call of duty, and I could care less about these haters but I'm going to say that Treyarch makes some amazing maps that not only have good layouts, but have interesting settings as well.
Like Nuketown. It's cool to see a replica of a neighboorhood town in the middle of a bomb test run, so that the bomb users can see the effects of the blast.
Or even firing range, I found it cool to have a map set in a practice firing shoot out. Or even that big map with the rocket ship flying up during the middle of the match. Sure it's made on the same engine, but at least they have some creativity.
As for MW3, they just took a bunch of random uninspired and boring settings and just added a lot of rubble.
Agreed. The new Infinity Ward should not be allowed to continue with this Franchise. Sledgehammer either, as they've done the DLC maps and those are crap also.
Next gen COD is going to have to step up big time. The 60fps gameplay that it is known for will be challenged by many others on the next consoles me thinks.
