Darksiders II First World Will 'Last At Least 10 Hours'
The game's associate producer has confirmed that this is a very long game, and the first area alone will take around 10 hours.
(Darksiders 2, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)
They said the same thing about the first game but I finished Darksiders 1 in 30+ hours. I am expecting the same thing again (but I won't be disappointed if it's not the case because I know it will be an amazing title). If you want platinum it's almost 40 hours of gameplay.
30+ hours is pretty good for a hack & slash game, i finish most of them in less, around 12 to 15 hours, i started dark siders a while back but didnt finish it.
@Tr10wn - You really should finish it, the ending especially is quite awesome. I've downloaded again from PS+ and have been considering trying to platinum it.
The one and only problem I had with Darksiders is that its hard mode isn't hard at all. It's just as easy as, well, easy mode. Lol. I hope that changes with Darksiders 2.
Well, with most games nowadays being compared to the lowest standard of single player lengths, mainly Call of Duty and its 5 hour campaign, you've got to give them credit. Especially for a hack and slash.
I got as far as the black throne how far am I to the end?
Did they fix the problem of the console resettling when you quit the game? I got the game free with Playstation Plus if I play that will I encounter the same problem?
There are 4 areas, each with a different look. I think they needed to create a bigger world as there are now side quests and towns to visit where you can sell loot that is dropped. Basically it has really become an RPG which is great.
I never finished the first one because of a glitch, which didn't allow me to go past. I may have to pick up the first game again, just so I know the story fully for the sequel.
I can't remember where it is, but it's not too far into the game, but you're in a train station full of water, you empty the area, and you need to put the trains on the correct tracks to progress, and if you don't move them over enough, or move them over too far, then you can't progress. That's what happened to me, and when I did it, autosave kicked in, and overwritten my save data.
Thanks for the heads up! I just snagged Revelations at Bestbuy online for $9.99 this last weekend and to my delight when I picked it up, it was the one with the first game on disc. SCORE!!!
When a game developer says his game is 10 hours long, you should always knock about 3 hours off that time.I know he's only talking about the first world, btw.
Loved the first, got it for $5 on steam, think I may have to support the devs on this and buy it at launch, THQ makes some awesome games and we gotta show them some love!
Quick thought is anyone going to play this on Wii U when it will have been out for months already on 360 and PS3.
There are 4 areas and over 40+ side quests, so we're looking at a 35-40 hours game right here.

I think the devs were still getting their footing during the first one and the second will only be better.

I'm about to give the first one a try on PS3, how do I avoid said game breaking glitch?
