PES 2013 Demo Impression | IRB GAMER

PES 2013 has over taken the spot FIFA once held in my heart and has become my new favorite soccer title. And for exactly the reason I mentioned above. It feels more natural to me than previous FIFA titles, more so in the areas that I had trouble with. I really enjoyed the "Game Plan" option as it allows you to go into an over view map and adjust your player starting line up. This can be down prior to the start of the game as well as during. So if you don't like your arrangement you can make changes at any time. The controls felt more natural to me unlike when I played FIFA and personally I found there was more of a learning curve with FIFA's controls. The graphics were not perfect, but since this is only a demo one can not expect them to be. Either way I was not disappointed with them and I am sure they will take the time to ensure the final product will be released complete and all polished up. (PES 2013, PS3, Xbox 360)

i didnt like, afew years ago they had it almost perfect, now i seems to get worse with each game.

Might have to be more precise as to when you thought it was almost perfect, 2010 and 2012 seems like the only years they were on the right track but screw up the game thanks of one badly handled part (in 2012 it was the bad shooting mechanics).

2013 takes the best of both and fixes their screw up like the Shooting . So i dunno what version you'd rather have , and what you didnt like there .

Last PES editions had positions on the pitch around the box from which a shot was a sure goal. Not the case in 2013 demo and keepers are the main reason.

Now i think Runs could be better , and fast players need to run faster and there are a few IA kinks , but so far so good .

The gameplay for this demo is good and so im hoping that the full retail game will have great gameplay.

My biggest problem with the demo so far is the poor graphics during night matches. Day matches look fine but for some reason night matches seem to look worse graphically

I enjoyed the demo. I still dont like they controller layout but i think that is because i have been playing fifa for the last 5 years as ive not liked pes but i set the controller to as close as i could get it to the fifa layout and i was impressed. If fifa is not improved much over last season i my pickup pes this year.

have you noticed that the night time match graphics are not right?
Baka-akaB  +   297d ago
there is some weird white aspect to the grass at night instead of a normal green, i think that's most of the issue here , easy to catch and fix , if they care to .

No I have not played a night match yet ill have a go tonight and have a look.

My first match I thought it felt too slow and unresponsive but a couple of matches later and I'm loving it, definitely getting it and it'll be the first PES I've bought since '09.

EDIT: I might add, I haven't bought FIFA either, as a PES fanboy of old I still could never bring myself to buy FIFA no matter how good it is supposed to be.

With you there , even at its worst , i still can't bring myself to enjoy Fifa over it . Everything in Fifa seems right , but the gameplay , Menus and career for me .

I can live with worse animations and graphics , as long as PES feels better to play

the only reason why PES still can compete with FIFA even with its dated graphic engine is because of its realistic football gameplay. If PES used latest graphic engine which could improve physics and animation then people won't be talking about FIFA for sure.

yea, but the thing I hate about FIFA is that the teams don't play the way they do in real life. In PES they tend to play like the real teams do. Graphically, FIFA is better but not not by much. PES games flow like the real game does and the goals are more realistic, so are the celebrations. FIFA has better running animations and ball physics though. Overall PES represents the sport better on the field and that's what matters.
