PES 2013 has over taken the spot FIFA once held in my heart and has become my new favorite soccer title. And for exactly the reason I mentioned above. It feels more natural to me than previous FIFA titles, more so in the areas that I had trouble with. I really enjoyed the "Game Plan" option as it allows you to go into an over view map and adjust your player starting line up. This can be down prior to the start of the game as well as during. So if you don't like your arrangement you can make changes at any time. The controls felt more natural to me unlike when I played FIFA and personally I found there was more of a learning curve with FIFA's controls. The graphics were not perfect, but since this is only a demo one can not expect them to be. Either way I was not disappointed with them and I am sure they will take the time to ensure the final product will be released complete and all polished up.
2013 takes the best of both and fixes their screw up like the Shooting . So i dunno what version you'd rather have , and what you didnt like there .
Last PES editions had positions on the pitch around the box from which a shot was a sure goal. Not the case in 2013 demo and keepers are the main reason.
Now i think Runs could be better , and fast players need to run faster and there are a few IA kinks , but so far so good .
My biggest problem with the demo so far is the poor graphics during night matches. Day matches look fine but for some reason night matches seem to look worse graphically
EDIT: I might add, I haven't bought FIFA either, as a PES fanboy of old I still could never bring myself to buy FIFA no matter how good it is supposed to be.
I can live with worse animations and graphics , as long as PES feels better to play
