Epic Raiders Review (Modojo)

Chris Buffa (Modojo): Before starting this review, it's important to note that if you despise freemium games and the mere thought of making in-app purchases, you'll probably hate Epic Raiders.

With that out of the way, this is a tough game to review. On one hand, it's a wonderful Battleheart clone with a key advantage in the form of online multiplayer, and we're talking the works, with random matches against people from around the world to managing a friends list and even selecting opponents based on difficultly. Conversely, GAMEVIL took the very concept of in-app purchases to such an extreme degree, that it becomes (based on our experience) impossible to progress without spending real-world cash. Thus, we have the following conundrum: reward Epic Raiders for being a thoroughly deep and entertaining action RPG, or slam the publisher for being greedy. Ultimately, we settled someplace in the middle. (Android, Epic Raiders, iPad, iPhone) 3/5
