The Start of the End of Social Games

If you haven’t heard by now Zynga, the largest social games creator, has received less earnings than anticipated for the second quarter. This resulted in a 40% drop in the stock for the company. This fall even affected the major portal that Zynga games are on, Facebook. With the big-hitters of social games making a turn for the worse, their golden business model may be coming to an end. (Casual games, iPhone, PC, Zynga)

Every company goes throu a downturn in stocks. Doesn't mean they're out for the count.

That is true but the casual market is the hardest one. It's really hard to come back up in that market

I do agree though that the casual game model has been completely over done and it does feel like a scam.

These companies need to have some balls and go in a different direction than what everyone else is doing.

Very well said grim, if you don't tale chances and try to create something new and daring if you want to become the market leader

If they're smart they would have or should be investing in other ventures having to do with games... but even if they bought a studio or something, going by Mark Pincus, they would just ruin it.

It's funny they are actually publishing some none casual titles for smartphones. I forgot the name of the game but it looks really good. I think it uses Unity.

But we'll see how this venture goes for them.

so according to these type of articles which their seems to be way too many gaming in general is dying. Since apparently PC gaming is dying, and so is console gaming dying as well and now Social/casual gaming is dying as well lol okay......

What's left they are all okay gaming is fine people like this site just need hits. Things peak and must go down eventually doesn't mean they will not rise back up again.
