PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is more than a Smash Bros. clone (2D-X)

Do you think Sony's upcoming brawler is Smash Bros. with a new skin? Think again. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a lot more nuanced than you'd initially believe. (PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, PS Vita, PS3)

It doesnt matter how many people try to make these articles to enlighten others how great PlayStation All-Stars is, the sad fact is that haters will be haters and they will limit themselves to not playing it and enjoying it for stupid reasons

Exactly. the only thing on people's minds is how much it is or isn't like SSB. That is the type of narrow mindedness gamers are cursed with this gen. I played every Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Battle Arena Toshiden 'clone' there was and still gave them a chance and actually enjoyed most of them. Remember World Heroes? I loved playing that game despite it obviously being like Street Fighter.

I like how the article says that the sure kill three level specials build up slower and the ones that build up faster are harder to land giving the game even more strategy as you have to decide if you want a character to slowly build a sure kill three level attack or a character to take a chance with missing with a fast building three level attack.

However I disagree with the final thing he said. Many of the characters used are more recognizable then many of the characters in Smash Brothers. Ask anyone who Ness, Pit, Mr Game and Watch,Ice Climbers Marth or King Dee Dee is. They won't know unless they look it up.I am sure more people know who Ratchet,Heichi and Sly are more then they know who Ness, Ice Climbers and Game and Watch are.

@smashcrashbash. All those Nintendo characters are incredibly well known to Nintendo fans. All the characters in both smash and all stars are well known by many fans.

I actually lost my interest in this game. I know this sounds displeasing to read but hear me out first. I feel as if there are too many outside party characters and not enough Playstation oriented characters. I mean, the guy from Tekken? What about that little cat character, really? I don't know anyone who is dying to play as him.

I feel like character choices are a big part of this game, but there seems to be a big emphasis on third party characters...

Hearing some amazing feedback for this game as the beta is live in Hong Kong.

This is most likely the huge announcement for Plus coming in August too for NA

Sure Nintendo cry babies might soil themselves because this game was inspired by Smash Brothers but there's enough differences to prevent it from being a complete clone. Also it looks like a lot of fin and I honestly don't see why Sony can't make a game like this while Nintendo can.

Sorry if I sound like a troll: Smash is more in depth then people think. For example, Smash has more attacks. You many think just because PASBR has more attacks buttons means it has more attacks, but it doesn't. The game has twelve (eighteen counting supers and throws) attacks with each button giving four depending on which direction you attack (the game has three attack buttons). Smash has twenty seven attacks (this game has two attack buttons and yes I'm counting Final Smash and throws) and you can charge some of those attacks for more attack power.
