Well its using PS2's format of DVD's....what did you expect? Its likely to have more content just like Saints Row then GTAIV though. Likely because they know they have to make such a sacrifice just to make the game even possible.
Go take a look at how much gigs GTASA was...now look up how much gigs go into the 360's format.
Looks like a PS2 title? Well its using its format so....
Don't blame Square as a publisher....blame MS for adding in the same format used in there last system. I mean what do you expect them to do? Make magic.
Example. Your a director and your making a film, your last film was in SD, this sequel was written to be longer.
So i'm going to give your the same amount of money, same camera and tell you to make it longer, bigger and in HD. LMFAO! Really? Its not going to happen. There are reasons why GTAIV had less features then GTASA...smaller etc. same goes for FFXIII.
edit. Developers are only as good as the hardware there working on. Developer didn't just start getting really bad this gen. I wonder what then?
Regardless of disk capacity, graphics have to be loaded into memory to be displayed on-screen. In other words, RAM has a bigger impact than disk space on a game's visual fidelity.
That's why developers refer to the "memory bottleneck" when talking about console games.
If storage space was the main factor, then the key to making your PC games look better would be having a bigger hard drive...
alrite so name one ps2 game that looks like this and has the same amount of content, and this game looks way better than GTA 4, and plays a lot better, so stop trolling, if u dont want the game dont get it, but no one wants to hear u complain about somethin that ur never goin to play
Is this on easy difficulty? If you watch the fights that start at 10:53 none of the enemy ever throws a punch or kick, they all just stand there and push every so often.
I cringe every time someone just writes off the combat as "taken from batman" this combat was in the works before the first arkham game was even announced. the similarities are nothing more than a coincidence.
Look at the fanboys knocking 360's dvd format, when nobody takes advantage of PS3's blu ray anyhow,.......unless there releasing a special ed., extended ed., uncut, remixed, banned in 23.5 countries Blu Ray version of a movie we've already had 10 times.
Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3, but as shown with original Xbox, developers won't take advantage of a machines power for multiplat titles, as it's not worth there extra effort. PS2 had he install base advantage, so developers had no need to make games that ran better on anything else, as there is no money in that illogical action, it would only cost more money.
Activision for example, actually optimize C.O.D. for 360 1st & foremost, & release dlc 1 month earlier for 360, as it is more financially viable for them to look after MS (as MS are paying them big bucks for exclusive content & under-counter preferential treatment), & they know that PS3 only owners will buy there games anyway.
So the fact is, that making a more powerful console is not the way to go in the console world (it's nothing like PC), as chances are your getting exactly the same version of a game that the competition gets.
And even without MS & Activisions big monetry exchanges for content deals, it is too expensive for 3rd party multiplatform developers to optimize one version of there games. They just want to make a game that is easily translated onto both machines to save time & money.
It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is, so as long as Sony and/or MS don't deliver unto us, some underpowered, over gimmicked out,Wii like machines, but rather keep doing what they are doing by making machines pretty much even, or slightly more powerful (like original Xbox over PS2 & now PS3 over 360), & we get pretty much identical multiplats, & exclusives that exploit eaches strong points, then I'll be happy.
By the way, this game looks great to me, & as already stated, as long as gameplay looks as fun as expected, then there's a good chance I'm in for a copy.
Maybe by Xbox 360's standards.
Just enjoy the game people!
Gameplay, do you you play it? Sad age when gamers put graphics over any other focus.
