You sure like spamming PC Elitest messages on here. lol
On Topic, looks good. Left 4 Dead is a pretty fun game. Good to see that dlc is still being made for the game. Valve definitely knows how to support their games long after release. I sure do hope L4D 3 comes out on PS3 or PS4.
Did you seriously just call him a PC elitist for making a factual statement that Steam practically gave this game away to him, where as you have to pay $5 on the Xbox 360 for the DLC alone?
There's really no need to be mad that it's so much cheaper and better for your wallet to game on PC. Personally I haven't payed $60 dollars for a retail game since 2010 IIRC. In fact I bought 19 games on Steam for a little more than the price of a full price retail game.
@Major Yeah maybe that was a bit extreme. LoL. Didn't mean anything by it.
It just seems like there's always that one guy to point out how PC is cheaper. We all know that Steam is cheaper. I would love if Steam was on consoles. Their sales are always crazy cheap. I'd love to be able to take advantage of them. Valve did bring Steamworks to the PS3 version of Portal 2 so maybe the PS4 will integrate Steam into its store. Highly doubtful though. Unfortunately. :(
Its a point totally worth mentioning. Furthermore PC has had the maps for much more than 1 year. I gave up waiting for Valve to release the maps for XBOX, the wait for fans was ridiculous. I ended up buying L4D2 on PC for less than XBOX is trying to sell this DLC. What does that tell you ?!
Sony and MS need to make money. The first people to be butthurt if Steam prices came on consoles would be MS and Sony. How would they recover all the losses they take on consoles if such prices existed?
nevermind the losses they take when launching a console. Sony and MS are large organizations, they have lot of employment costs, advertisement costs etc. Where do you think they want to recover all that expenditure from? Obviously all of that is a tax on console gamers.
Ever seen any advertisement for PC gaming? i know i havent. Advertisement budgets alone these days can be insane. MS and Sony need to get that money from somewhere, they sure as hell arent going to finance it themselves.
Hence if you are wishing Steam store was on PS or Xbox, its not gonna happen the console makers themselves would be butthurt about it and since its their platform they decide what get on and what doesnt.
$7 for A map?.. this update features 20 maps, a community made campaign for l4d2(cold stream) a l4d1 campaign, and a bunch of new weapons..
Obviously you got L4d cheaper in a pc sale, the sale was done by the creators of this game.. i got it cheap from Steam too.. oh look you're not special anymore..
$7 isn't a lot for what you're getting, it's only free on PC for obvious reasons
To all the people above me Steam is the obvious way to go but not everyone has a gaming rig or the same friends they like to play with on pc as opposed to xbox. Personally I like playing on xbox better.
Why aren't people reading, it's not just a map, it's an update which includes cold stream campaign, 20 maps, 4 l4d1 campaigns and a bunch of new weapons..
I bought L4D2 a long time ago and always wondered why Cold stream always had (beta) by the name when it never really seemed to go away, change, or come out of beta.
Lol, I don't play it alone either. I play with my brothers and friends, on my pc. You have this misconception that you can do things on your xbox that pc gamers can't do.
I had fun when i was playing it on my Xbox a few years back. I would have checked out L4D2 but i don't have my Xbox anymore. When i get a PC, i'm definitely picking up 1 and 2.
You should buy L4D2 now anyway - it's only $5 on steam. $5 today saves you $15 later (although, it'll likely be $5 or less during the Steam winter sale later this year...)
L4D2 PC on sale $5. one of the advantages of playing games on PC. too bad MS and Sony dont follow suit and see how profitable DD can be. not to mention the DLC aspect of how Valve operates. rewarding gamers has earned Valve part of their reputation.
No M$ has always had some really shitty pricing for the games on demand. They really should give their heads a shake when it comes to that. Noone in their right mind is going to buy a 3yr old game for $29.99 just for the convenience of downloading it to their system.
Between the games on demand and they are forcing Valve to charge for DLC.... I wouldnt blame them to make their next title PS3 primary. This is coming from someone who has L4D 1 and 2 plus all dlc on 360.
gotta love PC gaming.

Steam FTW.

xbox version is $30.00 + extra 5 for each dlc. (one of three is free though)..
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/S...
Plus paying to play multiplayer..
why do people support M$ again?
i clearly stated people aren't reading. Almost every comment above says its just one map which is what i responded to.
Whats the big deal about the price anyway?.. It's free for the platform owned by the same people that make the game.. seems fair to me.
So I'll just wait until they get it suitable for console release and then buy it. I'm patient and I'm not cheap.

"Left 4 Dead 2 Cold Stream DLC Not Releasing Today On Xbox 360, L4D2 Now On Games On Demand, $5 On PC"
pay attention to this part:
"L4D2 now on games on demand, $5 on PC."
thats L4D2, the full game, available on games on demand (not for $5) and on PC for $5.
its not misleading, you just didnt comprehend it correctly.
Valve have added all the campaigns from the first onto the second for free on pc.
On PC that is...dunno bout xbox
XBL Game Price: $30
XBL DLC Price: $7
Steam Game Price: Currently $5, normally $20
Steam DLC Price: Free
All I have to say to that is... :|
