Diablo Players Shopping Then Dropping

Criticizing Diablo III is very much in vogue at the moment. Among the most common grievances: the story is abysmal, the classes are unbalanced, and the atmosphere is dull. But now that the game has been in players’ hands for a couple months, there’s a new and somewhat astonishing complaint: it’s getting boring. (Diablo III, PC)

It's a single player game that feels like an MMO. Minus regular content updates.

D3 in my opinion is a good game. But as I played it I just couldn't help thinking "this took a decade to develop?".

I felt the same when I saw the first shots of Starcraft 2. Blizzard takes an unusually long time to create, what is essentially better looking versions of their old games. With SC2 being wildly popular for it MP I sort of expected little change. But I really thought D3 would reinvent the genre, and it didn't. I kept searching for something that would set D3 apart from those like it, and there was really nothing.

I'm not saying the game is horrible, its really good, but a decade? Really? D3 just doesn't justify its price or dev time. It really has very little value at all.
