Grand Theft Auto Publisher Nearly Financed Amalur Sequel

Take-Two Interactive nearly brought a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning sequel to life. According to a new interview with 38 Studios founder Curt Schilling, 38 Studios was “close to a pact” with Take-Two and the deal was ready for “final sign-off” until Take-Two was “spooked” by negative comments from Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chaffee and pulled out.

The story is too old to be commented.

T2 should have went ahead with the deal regardless

why not just let the company go bankrupt and get it for cheap?

Because they'd still need a developer to make the game happen.

Amalur is only what it is because of worst case business practices.

That sucks I really enjoyed the world of Amalur & would have liked to see another. I think it would have been cool if Take-Two was to publish the sequel. TT needs more RPGs so this would have been a good one. Plus maybe they could have used some of the assets from the other studios to help out 38 Studios with the next game.
