Well lets look at this sentiment...

Ubisoft is developing a number of WiiU titles.....
Ubisoft likes to sell games.......................
Ubisoft says the WiiU will be a success...........

Did anyone think they would say anything different?

In Bizarro world Ubisoft says "We are developing games for a console that is going to fail...please buy our games"

PopRocks3592332d ago

That argument could be used for any developer making games for a new Sony or Microsoft console. What's your point?

Dlacy13g2332d ago

My point really is Ubisoft saying this isn't news worthy. As you pointed out, its to be expected for anyone making games for a new console.

Shok2332d ago (Edited 2332d ago )

Good point, Ubisoft is all over the Wii U so it comes to no surprise that they would say this. It's business 101 though.

But really it doesn't matter what anybody says at this point, whether it's positive or negative. The only thing we can do is wait and see.

PopRocks3592332d ago

One thing remains constant though. Your bubble count will continue rising lol. Couldn't help but notice. :P

Patriots_Pride2332d ago

Well judging by how well the kick started for Ouya did, then it safe to say that gamers are starving for anything different or next gen.

Sony and MS must be on bath salts to give the WiiU a 1to2 year head start.

Maybe they are downplaying the WiiU like they did the Wii and we all know how that turned out.

victoryscreeeeeech2332d ago

yea but why would they put the investment of putting games on the Wii U in the first place, Ubisoft launching so many games should already be a statement saying how they think the Wii U will be successful. If they didnt then why would they put any investment at all?

MoveTheGlow2332d ago

They're not really saying it to "us," really. They're saying it to their stockholders, who they need to keep confident about the future after they invested their time and energy in Wii U titles (after, I'm sure, a lot of Nintendo financial support).

Stockholders are most likely wary about the Wii U after its showing at E3, they've seen the games press knock it quite a bit. Ubisoft made a huge investment in the Wii U. Makes sense that they'll try to drum up as much support as possible.

Let's hope Watch Dogs does gangbusters for these guys, because they're going to have to pay for the loss they'll take on Batman: Arkham City: The Batarang On A Not-Ipad Edition.

"Ubisoft made a huge investment in the Wii U"

Also,Ubisoft didn't publish or develop Arkham City, that would be Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady studios.

Salamander2332d ago

They must strongly believe this, otherwise why would they bother supporting a console they believe would fail.

cleft52332d ago

If it was just Ubisoft saying this than I would dismiss there opinion. As it is, many credible sources have commented on the Wii U in a very positive manner. After the it is understandable for us hardcore gamers to be skeptical of them. But please don't bury your head in the sand and just assume the console will be good or bad. Rather, keep an open mind and hope that this console isn't crap. From everything that I have seen and read before, the Wii U looks like a great console.

Laxman2332d ago

Dude, lots of developers and people in the industry voice thier concern or distaste if something isnt to thier liking, or they dont think much of it, its not all 'we'll support it so we get money.'

Bathyj2332d ago

You have it all backwards.

You think Ubi is saying it will be a success because they are making games for it.

I think they are making games for it because they think it will be a success.

They werent always making games for it. At some point they decided the console would do well, and then decided to make the games.

I doubt they would invest heavily into something they thought would fail.

Knushwood Butt2332d ago

They invested in Red Steel 2..

samtheseed2332d ago

People don't normally make games for a console they think is going to fail - not 7 of them anyway. Duhhhh.

No argument there, but will it emulate the Wii success? Questionable.

Patriots_Pride2332d ago (Edited 2332d ago )

Are you seriously questioning how successful the WiiU will be.

Look at it this way - Xmas comes around and moms are scavenging stores for gifts and they ask the cashier what is the new hip thing that this kids want now? the number one answer will be WiiU and not 360 or PS3.

All Nintendo has to do is market this as the next generation of consoles to the casuals (even though we hardcore no that the PS4 and 720 will slaughter it) and release a new Pokemon Ultimate Colors and Mario 4D Land in the west and a new Monster Hunter Hyper Edition and Just Dance Forever in the east and bamm $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

cleft52332d ago

That is true, but I don't think it will be as easy as all of this. If the price point is right and the marketing is good enough then the Wii U will be a huge hit with the casual market and even the core market will pay attention to them.

MultiConsoleGamer2332d ago

Nintendo products will always be a success with the modern "nintendo market."

Blue ocean baby. Blue ocean.

kingofe32332d ago

Wii U will be a success article = N4G ignores it

Wii U will be a failure article = N4G starts a party

WeskerChildReborned2332d ago

I just hate how some people on N4G are fanboys and disagree with anybody that says anything positive about Nintendo. Other than that, i love this site.

Infernostew2332d ago (Edited 2332d ago )

Ubisoft just can't wait to dump more shovelware on Nintendo consoles.

Summons752332d ago

Because Assassin's Creed 3 in 1080, Ghost Recon, and Rayman are sholveware >.>

I may not be a fan of Just Dance but I don't say stupid troll comments and clearly have no idea what I'm talking about.....crawl back to your hole troll

Infernostew2332d ago (Edited 2332d ago )

Don't get all butthurt. Not all Ubi games are shovelware but they were the shovelware kings on Wii so I'm sure they're eager to retain that title with the WiiU.
