PlayStation Store Preview – July 24th, 2012

It’s ALIVE! The PlayStation Vita, that is. The Vita is getting not one, but two new titles. One of them, however, is also available for the PlayStation 3. Outside of the PlayStation Vita, the once Japanese PS3 exclusive Malicious, is finally coming to North America. Don’t miss our PlayStation Plus section for new offers, and our Coming Soon section for a full update on the many hot titles coming to the PlayStation Network throughout the year. Plus, see all of the PSN Play title coming over the next month’s worth of updates. - PSLS (Dragon's Dogma, Foosball 2012, Frogger Hyper Arcade Edition, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Malicious, PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Renegade Ops, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Saints Row: The Third)

PlayStation Vita content. Yay.
doctorstrange  +   1130d ago
About time.
Sev  +   1130d ago
Way past due, though. It's been a rough month ad a half since Gravity Rush released. I know the system is just getting started, but there should have been some more PSN releases ready to hold things over.
bostoner  +   1130d ago
The people who disagreed with all you obviously don't have a vita. I'm sure they'll disagree with me too.
PoSTedUP  +   1130d ago
yeah i sold all my vita games (3) except GR bc its DLable and bought liberty city stories that just released and harvest moon for psp. really good fun games.

ps vita content yeah. but it's still bad and not to my liking. isnt vice city stories suppose to release the 24th? that's what i herd...
Sev  +   1130d ago
Vice City Stories is said to become compatible with the Vita starting on the 24th. But it's already unofficially compatible now if you try it.
decimalator  +   1130d ago
You can't get Metal Gear Peace Walker from the store, but if you download it to a PS3 you can load it up through the content manager. At least I was able to a few firmwares ago, I might have just gotten lucky.

The one thing I will say about the Vita drought is it has gotten me to take a 2nd look at some PSP titles I missed or neglected. Cladun and Cladun X2 are great. And of course Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is hours and hours of awesome... but sad because I fear it's the last Monster Hunter we'll see on a PlayStation platform thanks to stupid f'ing Capcom.
Oh_Yeah  +   1130d ago
you can already get malicious though? just sign up for psn europe. bad game btw
PoSTedUP  +   1130d ago
ah i see sev, thanks. ill have to figure out of i can DL it form ps3 bc i was having problems/ i dont wanna buy it and not be able to port it...

and yeah they look good, and monster hunter freedom looks excellent i really want it. i just bought fate/EXTRA which looks to be one of the greatest digital novels similar to psersona3. ill let you know ima bot to play it now
dbjj12088  +   1130d ago
Anything for my Vita is welcomed.
decimalator  +   1130d ago
I got all excited... but then I got sad.

Our children's children will call it the "Great Vita Drought of '12"...

There was a pretty decent launch window, and then it's sort of sucked ever since. Didn't they learn their lesson with the PSP? The PS3? Software sells hardware. To some extent the reverse is true too, but if there is nothing to play on the device, what is the point of the device?
-Mika-  +   1130d ago
Honestly im not even surprise by this drought. I already knew this was going to happen. If you did your research. You would have known too. I love my vita and the backlog of psp games is helping me through this drought

@Sev thxs for the answer. I can't wait then.

PoSTedUP  +   1130d ago
@dec yeah i guess most of the good games started developement all at once, seems like they will all hit at once (starting Oct. and beyond) besides Ragnarok oddsey which i cannot wait for.
decimalator  +   1130d ago
@Mika not that I'm surprised, just disappointed. PS3 got a slow start because of the lack of games. The PSP died because the games dried up because of piracy. I was just optimistic that Sony would have tried to line up the pipeline with at least a few morsels every couple weeks.

Granted, there have been some pretty decent games already and we're only about 5 months into its life in North America...
Baka-akaB  +   1130d ago
truth be told they released to much at once . Most of those launch games would have sold better if spread from mars till now , precisely to prevent the current drought .

And it doesnt help that too many psp titles arent playable yet
kikizoo  +   1129d ago
"PS3 got a slow start because of the lack of games."

because of price...only ! (even if the first months never are te best, pas3 lineup was better than competition ones, so..it was not the problem)

"The PSP died because the games dried up because of piracy."

died ? in your head only, look@sales.. (but you are right, not enough games, like nintendo's home consoles approximatly, and way less than ps2, ps3)
Xof  +   1130d ago
Sadly, it's not much, and nowhere near enough to excuse this dreadful patch of nothingness from June to October.

I swear, each time Sony makes a new console... handheld or otherwise, the deliver an impressive machine on every level... but then seem to go way, way out of their way to completely sabotage it. That's the only -possible- explanation for this kind of crap.
NBT91  +   1129d ago
I agree, I have learnt to not really buy Sony consoles on release. I got my PS3 on release and thankfully Oblivion released on it shortly after which was enough to hold me over for about a year or two before games started to actually release.

I just sold my Vita for a 3DS... Best decision I have made gaming wise. Enjoying playing Kingdom Hearts, Mario, StarFox and Zelda instead of literally just Uncharted Golden Abyss.

Not that I am against the Vita, it is a great system but the software is not even close yet. I believe it will eventually be a success though, even this fall with All Stars I will possibly end up buying another one =D but for now... No.
Tonester925  +   1130d ago
I wish I had a Vita.
Conzul  +   1129d ago
OH HO! See what he did there? XD
TENTONGUN  +   1130d ago
yeah i know. im personaly waiting for a madden vita demo. buyin it anyway, but cant wait to check it out ya know
-Mika-  +   1130d ago
Does anybody know how much malicious is going to cost. Will it be $10?
Sev  +   1130d ago
Yep, $9.99 is what I saw.
JAMurida  +   1130d ago
Nice and thank you.
JonnyBigBoss  +   1130d ago
Rainbow Moon is already getting DLC? What!?
Wintersun616  +   1129d ago
It already has in the EU store, but it's only the kind of DLC you can buy Rainbow Pearls etc with. Not actual content.
Sev  +   1130d ago
Careful of all of the PlayStation Store Preview knock-offs lately. There have been three new ones in the past 10 days alone. Stick with the tried and true original.
Trenta27  +   1130d ago
Oh yay. Two new games?! They must want to spoil us!

/sarcasm
Ducky  +   1130d ago
SaintsRow3 is still getting more DLC?
Oh my.

Still no Dawnguard -.-
skyrim  +   1130d ago
I'm not to sure but does anyone know if deus ex hr is coming out for free to ps plus I had heard it was?
Ducky  +   1130d ago
I think that was for europe.

For NorthAmerica, the games listed in the article are the current free games, and as far as I'm aware, next-months free games haven't been announced yet.
skyrim  +   1130d ago
Ah ok thank you a little disappointing but can't complain it was free lol.
WeskerChildReborned  +   1130d ago
It might come next month cause Europe already got it.
Baka-akaB  +   1130d ago
would be nice , eu version of DE -HR got those sometimes awful localization , and you can't select english instead .
D3mons0ul  +   1130d ago
Where is Way of the Samurai 4?
JAMurida  +   1130d ago
Malicious!!!

And hopefully Dogma DLC this week is good.
enkeixpress  +   1130d ago
Looking forward to trying out that Puddle demo for Vita. :)
decimalator  +   1130d ago
Puddle is an apt description of the depth of Vita software at the moment...
HarvesterOSarow  +   1130d ago
Getting Malicious!
GuruStarr78  +   1130d ago
Puddle and foosball?

Enough said, I'll just leave this one alone...

Oh well, my vita will last longer, I guess...
Hazmat13  +   1130d ago
im sure the only reason THQ is still putting small DLC into SR3 is so when the GOTY edition comes out its looks like is has so much content and fun. this thing when all that combined is at least 12 hours of fun. and also im guessing the horror pack is nothing more than a few suits and thats it.
DivineAssault  +   1130d ago
damnit! i thought malicious was going on vita as well.. oh well.. ill make due w the ps3 version
r21  +   1130d ago
the vita version aint out yet, the devs are still tinkering with it and are said to be adding new content to it for the vita :D
ajax17  +   1130d ago
Will Portal EVER be released on PSN??? I mean, I'd pay 15 dollars for it! Come ON!

BelieveinGhosts  +   1129d ago
Yes, it releases on Wednesday in the Uk, im not sure about US though. For some reason it is not on the list
segamon  +   1130d ago
the man in the picture, why people keep using it? it's damn ugly.
JAM_brz  +   1129d ago
hahaha... that's true!!! so damn ugly!
JAM_brz  +   1129d ago
