Nintendo's "Created Something Good" With The Wii U, According To Ubsioft's CEO

"Ubisoft was one of the shining showcases at this year's E3, receiving plenty of praise from showfloor attendees and viewers over the internet, and for good reason too. The intriguing games that were shown off, in conjunction with their appearance at Nintendo's time of the stage, capped off a good show for the prominent game publisher. It was also noted that the Wii U was shown off quite a bit in their conference, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has apparently stated the company's support for the console in a recent interview with Gamasutra, also telling us how "risky" it is..."

Not bad for a software only company. I'm so confused.

It seems Nintendo and Ubisoft are in love.

I hope we can have some Watch Dogs action on the WiiU.

-EDIT-
Yeah, people will disagree with me just because I want game X on platform Y. Fanboys are the worst race in this planet for sure.

You can disagree all you want but I hope multiplatform games will be released for every next generation system, so everyone will be happy.

Look I kind of agree it's time for new systems but I also see a lot of potential in current ones. And UBI if tout up a great game even if it's a new IP it will sell the install bases are over 120 million combined for ps/xbox 360.

I think the earliest we will see new system into the market is 2014. They will announce next year at e3

JBSleek1462d ago

The latest is 2014 and that is pushing it.

There isn't "a lot" of potential left out of these consoles as the threshold has been reached and even though compelling games are still coming out it doesn't warrant a delay of new consoles being released.

I expect a E3 2013 will holiday 2013 launch.

showtimefolks1461d ago

well you are 100% i just don't see either sony or MS rushing to it when their systems are selling so well. I think they will look at how N launches wii-u than learn from it and try to have a flawless launch

i am still sticking by what i said fall 2014 is when we will see new systems fro sony and ms(maybe one of them will jump start it by launching next year)

PS2 sold 160 millions units, Wii 100, PS1 110 and the NDS has sold 150 so the PS3 and 360 are still ways away from market saturation, and I'm sure their respective companies know this. As long as they keep on supporting them and show that they can compete against the Wii U (actually it's the other way around), they'll keep on selling.

MasterCornholio1462d ago

I'm not a big fan of the Wii Us controller but I know that it will offer new ways to play games which is why I hope it doesn't become another GameCube or N64.

If it brings quality games like Super-Nintendo games back in the day they won't go wrong.

First and foremost I need to get something off my chest....

I am a PS3 user, and Sony has been my 1st choice of console manufacturers...but I am extremely intrigued by the Wii U...I don't really care Wii U's rumoured to be only marginally more powerful than current gen.

..it just looks so dang sexy to me, and I'm growing tired of FPS's and overtly serious games.

I am starting to believe the Wii U could make games 'fun' again.....I'm starting to believe I will purchase the Wii U.

If you knew me as a gamer (COD, GOW3, Killzone, Red Dead Max Payne etc)...you might say STRANGE....strange times indeed!

I WANT THE WII U .....shit!! ...I've admitted it now lol
